It has been so fun watching Lynne Yun get into crochet! Just a few months ago, she had never picked up a crochet hook, but now she’s made two of our store samples (with much guidance from Ruby-Summer😇). Having a genuine beginner on the team also allows us to test what we offer in the store so we can make the best recommendations.

I love being able to see the beginning part, where people’s hands start to learn what they’re supposed to do with practice. Lynne is bringing some cards from the Granny Square Flower Deck with her for some holiday travel, and I bet her granny squares will look totally different when she gets back.

Store merch alert! We made a sweet multi-craftual pouch for you, perfect for subway projects like socks or hats. It also fits a sketchbook and watercolor kit ofc. I’m currently using it for my active granny squares, and it also stands up on its own!

We’re very happy to stock the The Locavore Guide 2027 guide, where we’ve made our debut! Our customers are often so grateful to be able to purchase crafting materials in person and this guide makes it so much easier to do so for everything.

This book will help you find selvedge wood, cowboy boots, secondhand clothes, spices, screen printing materials, rhinestones… you name it. How lucky are we to live in NYC where you can still get this stuff in person?! Let’s keep it that way by putting our money where our mouth is!

I’m obsessed with felting. I’ve never done it before but these kits by Sheep Creek Studio are genuinely SO fun and beginner friendly, and the colors included have so many creative possibilities. It’s like coloring with felt!! Every staff member is taking a stab at it.
