Her oil paintings explore surrealistic worlds made up of knitted forms and have become the basis for her unique hand-dyed yarns. Everyone loves a good mixtape! The by Wool & Pine was an instant love for me and I knew I had to make one asap! This is all scrap, about half of my handdyed and half stash. Too many dyers to tag individually. And to add to the mix, I numbered each one and used a random generator to determine the order. I only had to modify those results once when it gave me to almost identical colors next to each other.

I got to meet one of my favorite designers at DFW Fiber Fest today! Stephanie has some fabulous patterns that I just adore. And I learned a lot about working with self striping yarn! So much that I already snagged some yarn to start her sweater - “bright axis”. It’s been a good day!

These granny square tees are just so easy, how did I never try this before? I almost feel like it’s cheating to count them in my yearly sweater total.

This is me, pretending to be cool when in reality I’m sweating up a storm in this Texas heat.
Finished tee alert!!! Hannah Cross design, “rainbow granny square sweater”. Modified with cotton yarn - I didn’t make the granny square sleeves as directed but instead just picked up and made granny stitch rounds. I also didn’t add any ribbing anywhere. I would make this again though- and am dreaming of it already!! The cotton yarn, Premier Yarns “hipster cotton” did all the work and makes me so happy.
