Perk of teaching a lesson this morning? GORGEOUS views on my walk! If you’re in South Buffalo, do yourself a favor and stroll through Caz Park on this stunner of a day. If you want to extra treat yourself, book a lesson with me 😂🙏 I had the privilege of helping my student understand her first pattern today. There’s a lot of knitting language that can feel tough to understand when you’re starting out or even if you’re a seasoned knitter.

I typically meet up for lessons at coffee shops and libraries, but with this warmer weather I’m thinking park knitting is another good option! 😎🌸

My Teaching Statement ❤️

My hope for all students is that they will approach the fiber arts with an open heart and mind and in return I will do the same. I strive to meet each person where they are with patience, kindness, humor, and compassion. I aim to make accommodations as necessary and adjust as needed. I always encourage people to arrive at lessons with authenticity and honesty and can expect the same in return. I strongly uphold the dignity of all people no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age, or socioeconomic status. I honor the ancient beauty of the craft and also hope to bring a fresh perspective, balancing the old with the new. I firmly believe that the fiber arts is for everybody and will do whatever I can to make it accessible to all. ❤️

I don’t know that I even shared the segment here (maybe I did? Hello, hey, hi! 👋 Sometimes I get DMs asking me if I sell knitted or crocheted garments, and the answer to that is no, I do not. I do, however, teach lessons in Buffalo, NY, and anywhere else via video chat. I also teach yarn spinning on a wheel or drop spindle, beginner crochet, and beginner weaving. Occasionally I dye yarn, but that is mostly in the summer months and right now in very small batches and are all one of a kind yarns. In addition to teaching I also design knitwear patterns.
