This beautiful vintage cabinet has officially found its second life 🤍

Originally finished in a dark stain, this solid wood piece was thoughtfully reimagined with a soft, whitewashed finish that allows the natural grain to shine through while lightening the overall feel. The interior was refreshed with a deep navy floral lining for contrast, and finished with warm brass hardware to complement the curves and architectural details of the original design.

Every decision was made to honor the integrity of the piece while giving it a more timeless, livable presence for its new home.

✨ A second life for a true classic ✨

This antique Stromberg-Carlson record player cabinet is not for sale—but it was too beautiful not to share.

The top and base were fully stripped and re-stained in a cooler tone to bring the wood back to life, while the ornate details were carefully highlighted with bronze metallic paint to let the craftsmanship shine. The front was decoupaged with stunning paper from , then blended seamlessly with a custom mix of paints for a soft, time-worn finish.

Some of the original trim was missing, so I recreated it the old-school way—by making a mold with putty and casting new pieces in resin to restore the cabinet’s original elegance.

As a longtime vinyl lover with a very full record collection, I’m especially excited that this piece stores a generous number of albums, includes shelving, and still has working interior lights.

This cabinet is ready for its next chapter—and many more years of music and memories.

Do you have a special piece that could use a little reinvention? ✨

✨ Client Reveal: A 70-Year-Old Handmade Pine Desk, Reimagined ✨

This solid pine desk was hand-built over 70 years ago and lovingly used as a vanity table for decades. My client grew up watching it in her home, and it still holds all the charm and history of the hands that made it.

After carefully removing multiple layers of old paint, the most beautiful wood grain emerged — a reminder of just how special these heirloom pieces truly are. 🤍

To honor its history while giving it new life, I refinished it in Snow Owl by Wise Owl Paint (One Hour Enamel) — a crisp, pure white that feels fresh yet timeless. It’s sealed in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat, Semi-Gloss for extra durability and a subtle, elegant sheen.

The top was fully stripped and beautifully restained using General Finishes Oil-Based Stain in the color Flint, bringing out that rich pine character with depth and warmth. ✨

Additional upgrades for its next chapter:
• Sleek brushed nickel hardware
• William Morris–inspired wallpaper lining the drawers
• Casters added for modern function and easy movement
• Restored, stained, and sealed top showcasing that gorgeous natural grain

This transformation is the perfect blend of nostalgia and modern refinement — a cherished family piece ready to live on for generations. 🕊️

Let me know what family heirlooms you’ve been dreaming of refreshing… I’d love to help bring them back to life. 💛

✨ Client Reveal: A 1952 Treasure, Restored✨

Every now and then, a piece comes into the studio that carries so much history it feels like stepping into a time capsule — and this cabinet was exactly that. ❤️

This beautiful vintage piece originally held my client’s very first family TV back in 1952. It has been a part of her home, her childhood, and her family’s memories for generations. I felt truly honored to give it new life while preserving everything that makes it meaningful.

For the transformation, I refinished the exterior in Coal Black by Fusion Mineral Paint, sealing it with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in a semi-gloss for a sleek, durable finish.

Inside, I wanted to create a little moment of luxury — so I lined the interior walls with a floral wallpaper and added black velvet to the base for texture and depth.

The original hardware was too special to replace, so instead I refreshed it from gold to silver using Rub ’n Buff, giving it a soft metallic sheen while keeping its iconic shape and history intact.

Swipe to see the transformation. 🖤

I'm thrilled to share this stunning antique restoration project I've just completed for a client! Friends, while paint trends may come and go, restoring a beautiful antique solid wood piece like this with stain to showcase its gorgeous wood grain is truly timeless and elegant. At nearly 8 feet tall and full of intricate woodwork, this piece demanded many long hours of meticulous care to remove the old worn finish and sand back scratches and imperfections. I chose Candlelite stain and their Arm R Seal top coat for long-lasting durability. A lovely floral print now adorns the drawers and cabinets, bringing a touch of freshness and a pop of color! The hardware was meticulously cleaned and polished, giving this piece a second life that will last for many years to come. Be sure to swipe to see all the detail photos!! —>

From rough to radiant! This pair of vintage Queen Anne tables needed some serious work when I got them (just check out the before photo). But revealing the gorgeous wood grain beneath the worn finish was pure magic. After stripping the bases of old paint, I gave them a sleek new coat of navy blue (Inkwell) by Wise Owl Paints. The tops were stained with Antique Walnut by General Finishes and sealed with Arm R Seal for long-lasting protection. It’s lovely all the way down to its delicate toes ✨. These beauties are ready for their second life!

Another complete! This antique desk came to me with all six legs broken off, so I sourced new ones. The top was badly scratched, but it was a solid wood piece so some good sanding and it looks brand new! Stained in antique walnut and sealed in arm r seal.

The base was painted a custom blend of colors to match my client’s decor, and bronze metallic accents make the details pop! New hardware and beautiful William Morris print wallpaper to line the drawers, and this piece is ready for new life!

This little antique secretary desk has gotten a glow-up! ✨

Scroll ➡️➡️ to see the sad state it was in when it was given to me for free by one of my clients. The veneer on the sides was curling and damaged beyond repair, so I pulled it off and decoupaged it with a lovely floral print, instead!

The front was in need of some interest, so I bought new wooden appliqués from and stained them to match. The piece was sanded and stained in antique walnut. Back legs and interior painted in One hour paint in Carbon.

Hello, friends and furniture artists! 👋

I want to take a moment to re-introduce myself. My name is Valeria, and I founded Refablished as a side business 10 years ago. It has always been my creative outlet and brought me joy. Over the past year, I stepped away from furniture to explore other artistic paths and learn new skills.

That pause gave me space to recharge, experiment, and reconnect with why I create.

Now, I’m easing back into furniture work — with limited availability.

I am grateful to keep building beauty, piece by piece, and for all of you who have supported me through this journey.

This quote by Nietzsche resonates with me because so much in our external world has been hard to bear this year. It has been a very difficult time for our country and our world. Art and beauty has incredible power to heal, to teach, to comfort and to change. 💫

Stop! Before you get rid of old decor that no longer “works”, consider if it just needs a makeover? 🤔 ⚡️✨

That’s what I did here for a friend who had these old black mirrors, but wanted something lighter after painting her walls a deep blue and updating her furniture. These carved wood mirror frames were a fun project! After stripping them back and painting in an antique white, then distressing for that old world charm, they take on new life. ❤️ Scroll for more photos, including the “before”!

Happy Saturday! New piece to share with you all…✨

I was thrilled to receive this roomy six-foot long buffet FOR FREE from a kind person on Facebook Marketplace. I forgot to take a before pic, but it was dark cherry wood and in rough condition.

I gave it a fresh new look with in a custom color match to Sherwin Williams’s Sea Salt; an ultra high-gloss paint with a sheen so lacquered you can see your reflection in it! 🪞This paint is absolutely amazing; but there’s a learning curve and particular studio setup required for an expert finish!

I will be keeping this piece for our home…it’s the perfect storage I needed for my new dining room makeover. I’ll show you all some home makeover photos soon, as well! 💕 I’m also obsessed with my new lamps from .
