Who would I even be if I finished one project before starting the next?! 😬🤣 The deck is at a holt for now because I’m just too indecisive on how/what I’m going to do. I’m scared guys! lol. So, to give myself a little more time to process and settle on a final decision I decided to start getting this eyesore started. So far I’m making good progress! This is east facing getting about 5/6 hrs of Sun. What kind of Fall flowers would you plant here?

Today is the beginning of a long desired project. I’m going to attempt to build a small deck for our pool. For one, our current ladder is so wonky and uncomfortable to climb up and down and two, we need the pump covered from the sun. Honestly, I’m a bit nervous. This is a pretty big project and I think much more challenging than a bookcase or table, but I think it’s worth a shot. Guesses on how long it’ll take with a 9 month old? 😬🤣

Something is in the Works!

First project post pregnancy! May take me until the end of January to complete with a 2 month old, but we are making progress little by little. lol.

I started this cabinet at the beginning of 2023 prior to finding out about my pregnancy and for obvious reasons, it was put on hold. I am so excited to be able to start working on it again! It has been such an eye sore for all these months.

When I first started, this cabinet was white and peeling! Essentially what gave me the desire for a makeover. It’s been quite a process thus far, but I am starting to finally see it all come together. I can’t wait to share the final product!

What’s been in the Works at OwensWorks?

Baby Owens #4 set to arrive Nov 2023.

All woodworking and other hobbies have been put on hold due to severe morning sickness so that’s why there’s no finished trellis yet along with other projects, but things are starting to get much better now that I’ve reached my second trimester. I’m hoping and praying to get back into it very soon so I can share some finished masterpieces and of course enjoy them too before I get too big, uncomfortable, and unworkable again. Ha.

Just a quick visual of what’s to come.

I finished all those tedious cuts today. All 80 of them. 😬 Then sanded her down and began the staining process. Once this one is 100% complete then I’ll begin the second one to finish the other side.

In the works …

Made this garden bed about a week ago and was indecisive if I wanted to buy or make a privacy trellis for it. Well, as you can see, I’ve decided to make one.

Can’t wait to see my climbing rose bush and wisteria trailing up and blooming!!!
