Sheep moving from the street bucket view. It's as chaotic as it looks 🤣

These days are busy. School, extracurriculars, butcher season and prep for fall/winter fairs are all in full swing. So this is what our plates look like more often than not. Fresh veg from the garden and fried lamb. This one was mutton loin (you don't get fat caps like that on a lamb).

Tonight (not pictured) we carmelized onions and garlic along with a couple cayenne peppers from our garden. Then we took the cooking fat (we usually use lard, but you can use tallow too) and cooked the meat in all those delicious flavors leftover. It was heavenly.

Sometimes (most times) moving sheep is inconvenient. Sometimes our bones ache from hard days labor and endlessly chipping away at the to-do list. But whether it's peaceful moments in the pasture watching the sheep or delicious moments shared at the dinner table with our family, these are the moments that remind us why we do it all. Is it hard? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely 🙂

New sheep always take some acclimating. But with a good lead sheep from our flock and a decent amount of treats they usually come along. These guys are doing great 🙂

We are back! We welcomed our fourth daughter at the beginning of May, so we've been taking a well needed break from social media posting as we adjusted to our new life. But sheep must always be moved, pastures must be seen to and life never fails to keep moving whether you want it to or not.
So here we are, ready to offer the world what we've been working on in the corners and closets behind the scenes. Stay tuned for updates on everything! And if you are in the Burley area, drop by tomorrow at the local farmer's market, we hope to see you there!

We love it when healthy lambs are born. Rose has turned out to be quite the protective mama. We are thinking she's going to be a lead sheep here soon.

My husband Mark and I run a small sheep flock here in Heyburn. We raise heritage and dairy breeds and are passionate about all things sheep. This year we have grown our sheep flock and are looking to connect with more customers! Have you been wanting to get more connected with your food and your farmer? We rotationally graze our sheep on a variety of properties throughout the year. Not only does this make our sheep extremely healthy, but it also helps these properties fight invasive weeds and bring health and nutrients to the soil. The health of our sheep is of utmost importance to us and we love watching them live healthy, happy lives out on pasture.
We also know that one of the biggest challenges for our customers has been learning how to cook with all different types of meat at home. Because of this I have created an e-book teaching people how to use the odd bits that no one knows how to cook with! Additionally if you have any cooking questions or need support I’m fully available to answer your questions. We want to support our customers in living healthily and being successful in their goals to bring healthy, nourishing food to their table.
