I cannot sleep tonight. πŸ˜… I'm headed to High Point Furniture Market and if you know, you know, this is basically Christmas morning for a designer.

I've got my list, my coffee, and my comfortable shoes ready. I'll be hunting down everything from curved silhouettes (they are EVERYWHERE right now) to traditional pieces getting a fresh, unexpected spin. Expect a whole lot of rich, warm and deep moody tones this season, and if you've been with me a while you know I will absolutely lose my mind over a good pattern play moment. That one's just for me, no apologies. 🀍

I think you're going to want to see what's coming to Piedmont Triad homes next.

What should I keep an eye out for you? Tell me below and I'll go look! πŸ‘‡

It is hard to believe it was this time last year that we fisnished up working on this incredible project for .....what an incredible team of talented and dynamic professionals, with top notch leadership. Plus they are just all around good people! πŸ™ŒπŸ™

When I say I am living my dream in doing what I do, it is not an exaggeration. To every client that allows us the honor and privilege to be a part of their design project, we thank you from the bottom of our heart. 🩷

It's hard to believe this project was almost complete this time last year, but what an incredible time we had in the process of working with the extremely talented team and high caliber leadership of .

What an honor to be able to work and collaborate with such amazingly creative and brilliant people in doing what we love.

I've always said good design isn't a 30 minute HGTV show.

This living room is proof of that. We layered in texture and color until the whole space felt warm instead of staged, but the real turning point? Updating the fireplace with real wood wallpaper. That one change became the focal point that pulled every other decision in the room together.

Beautiful, comfortable, and totally them. That's the goal every time.

If you've been around for a minute, you know I talk about lighting a lot, it really can make or break a space!

This one's proof that it doesn't have to be ornate to make a statement. Simple and beautiful can carry the whole room.

Started my day driving and talking about how I actually got into this career, and it turned into something I wasn't planning on sharing.

The short version: I was scared when I started. So I left design and went another direction entirely for a while. It felt like the responsible choice.

But I missed it. So later in life, I came back. And now I get to do this every day and genuinely love it.

If you're sitting on a "maybe it's too late" feeling about something, I just want you to know it isn't. Swipe through. 🀍

And here's how it ends (well, actually, here's how it started all over again).

Coming back to design later in life wasn't the "safe" choice on paper. But it's the one that finally felt right. I love what I get to do every single day, and I don't take that for granted.

If you've been following this little series from the car this week, thank you for letting me be honest about the whole journey, not just the pretty parts.

This is why I do what I do. 🀍

If you caught part one, here's where it gets messier.

I totally pivoted and went a different route into business. At the time it felt practical. Smart, even. But something never quite sat right.

I don't think I've ever said this part out loud on here before.

One more part to this story, and it's the good one. πŸš—

Not gonna lie, this one's a little vulnerable to post.

I was driving the other day and just started talking about how I got into design in the first place, and how scared I actually was. Not "nervous excited," just plain scared.

Nobody really talks about that part. Everyone sees the finished rooms and assumes it was always the plan. It wasn't.

This is the honest version. πŸŽ₯

(There's more to this story. I'll share the next part soon.)

Confession: formal dining rooms are the ones people use the least... until they're designed right.

These clients family wanted a space that felt special for the holidays and Sunday dinners, without feeling like a room nobody's allowed to sit in.

Keeping their furniture and giving it new life felt right for this family. So we added color, reupholstered what they already had, and the whole room shifted.

Now it's exactly what they wanted: special enough for the holidays, comfortable enough for a random Tuesday dinner.
