I am so sad to hear about Heike's passing. She was always so encouraging and I always felt like I knew her although we never met. The world is a brighter place because of her beautiful soul.

Nous regrettons de vous annoncer que Heike a donné, le 12.05.2026, son dernier coup de pinceau après un long combat contre la maladie.

Heike laisse derrière elle un vide mais nous a aussi demandé de transmettre ce message : «Vous avez le droit d’être triste, mais pensez à ces moments de folie de la maman, l’amie, la collègue… »

Le monde est un peu plus terne maintenant, elle qui le remplissait d’optimisme et de couleurs, faisons-lui hommage et répandons-en chaque jour un peu nous aussi.

We regret to announce that Heike made her final brushstroke on May 12, 2026, after a long battle with illness.

Heike leaves a void behind her, but she also asked us to share this message: "You have the right to be sad, but think of those moments of madness from the mother, the friend, the colleague..."

The world is a little duller now, since she filled it with optimism and color, let us pay tribute to her and spread a little of both ourselves every day.

Wir bedauern, Ihnen mitteilen zu müssen, dass Heike am 12.05.2026 nach einem langen Kampf gegen ihre Krankheit ihren letzten Pinselstrich gesetzt hat.

Heike hinterlässt eine große Lücke, aber sie bat uns auch, diese Nachricht zu übermitteln: „Ihr dürft traurig sein, aber denkt an all die verrückten Momente mit der Mutter, der Freundin, der Kollegin ...“

Die Welt ist nach ihrem Abschied ein wenig grauer geworden. Da sie sie stets mit Optimismus und Farben erfüllte, wollen wir ihr zu Ehren jeden Tag selbst ein wenig davon verbreiten.

Happy Earth Day! You might not know this but most of my surfaces I paint on have been upcycled. That table top from a broken table --> wooden painting. That cabinet? Found in a thrift shop or on a curb. My larger panels? I gotta guy who uses scrap wood to build them for me. Sometimes I just paint on cardboard boxes!

The purists and the haters do not agree with painting all the items but the truth is that most were on their way to a landfill.

Repurposing is so much fun and is a passion of mine. It just also happens to help the earth too.

Are you holding on to a piece of furniture but hate how it looks now? My summer commission book is open and I would be happy to change it up for your modern taste.

What daily steps do you take to make one less trip to the landfill? Let me know in the comments.

Flashback to this cute guitar I painted. This is a vintage wooden guitar that was broken beyond repair and I had been saving it for SOMETHING and SOMEDAY. The empty hole was crying for glass cabochon which reminded me of a VW bug headlight. This is definitely one of my favorites! Should I try it again?
