If you missed out on that beautiful Bluephoria Mandevilla we sold yesterday…be encouraged because we have a few more in different colors!!

Have no fear about planting these now - they will do great!! Just remember they like their soil to be just a little dry on top before you water them. They don’t like to completely dry out. In our hot temps the last few weeks mine were doing just great if I watered them every other day.

I had a sweet friend gift me a microphone so you can hear me both over the traffic noise, and me jumping all around - but I keep forgetting to bring it!!!!!

Mandevilla Bluephoria is truly a stunner - both in its vigor and beauty! This plant just seems to be totally disease and bug resistant in our garden center! It is a prolific bloomer and…you don’t need to deadhead!!!!

This particular Mandevilla will look amazing in pots or growing up a fence, trellis or wall of any kind - with a little help! This particular variety will also not get out of control and stay a bit more compact without taking over the neighborhood!!!! I often worry about invading the neighbors yard!!

Let your Mandevilla dry a bit on top, but honestly- they will do well having a regular water schedule of every other day!

Nepeta “Walker’s Low” is an award winning perennial you will just love! It’s interesting that it won the 2012 Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society, and the 2007 Perennial Plant of the Year award.

I’ve known this plant as ”Catmint” with its beautiful blue flowers and spreading sage green foliage. If you trim back the spent blooms, it will keep on providing lovely color to your yard, patio, pots or even borders!

You’ve gotta love its low maintenance tolerance for heat and drought. When you get it home and plant it - be sure to deep water it so it can adjust and get established.

The bees, butterflies and hummingbirds will love your Nepeta, and you are going to love this touch of blue!! Come on in to Oceanside ACE Hardware on College and Oceanside Blvd! We are always happy to see you 😀🪴

Hmmm…the Giant Swallowtail Butterfly caterpillars have eluded me! I can’t seem to find their chrysalis anywhere? Some of you are super informed on this subject - any ideas where to discover them???

There are many beautiful plant pots out there but beware - avoid pots that have a rounded shape, or are flared at the bottom and get narrower at the top!

Why?? Well just think of how hard you will need to wrestle with that plant when it is time to repot it!!!

I love the asymmetrical shape of this pot, as well as how it is narrower at the bottom and flares at the top!! Makes it easy cheesy to repot and looks stunning at the same time!!! And don’t hesitate giving thrift stores a chance to find planting pots!!!!! I have found some beauties for less $$$$$

Can you plant marigolds this time of year? YES!

Marigolds are generally easy to grow and this beautiful lady is no exception! Taishan Yellow is an African marigold and has strong stems to support these stunning flowers!!! No dropping flowers here.

Heat lovers, these beauties are a true annual and will not be invasive. It is better to plant them in poor soil since a rich soil will encourage more greenery and less blooms.

Is it hot out? YES! Is it safe to plant these now? YES!!! So what are you waiting for? Come see us at Oceanside ACE Garden Center!!!! (The one off Oceanside Blvd and College!!!) YAY!

“Apricot Glow” is so gorgeous - you need to pop in to Oceanside ACE just to enjoy its blooms!!!

Dahlias are great for expert and beginner gardeners!!! Just be sure to:
🪴 Put them in full sun!
🪴 Let the soil dry out a bit - water when the top inch of soil is dry
🪴 Deadhead to keep blooms coming!!

You will be enjoying these blooms for the next few months!!!!
