I bear witness to the incredible transformation that happens when people have a chance to take time for themselves to create, talk, laugh, take care of themselves. Working Artist in Residence with the staff at CARES through The George Family Center for the Healing Arts. Rowan U.

Just left the Arts in Health conference at Rowan University, Hosted by George Family Center for Healing Arts. What an amazing day filled with inspirational speakers, fun arts activities, and connecting with Movers and Shakers, Creatives, Administrators and others who came together with the sole purpose of discussing the importance of bringing the arts into health through communities, hospitals, schools, and to other vulnerable communities. .

Do you know the song Tis a Gift to Be Simple? I want to write out the lirics for you.
"Tis a gift to be simple;
Tis a gift to be free;
Tis a gift to come down where we all ought to be;
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
Do you know the song Tis a Gift to Be Simple? I want to write out the lyrics for you.
To bow and to bend we shall not be ashamed;
To turn and to turn shall be our delight,
Til we turn and in turning we come around right."

Last night I couldn't sleep, and this song, which I hadn't heard in over a decade, popped into my head. I loved this song as a child. I didn't know why, but I always felt total light radiating from me when I could sing and dance to it.

Each of us, I believe, seeks a peaceful existence — one that is content and calm. Through trust, wisdom, and faith, we can find the balance, peace, and harmony we are looking for.
Along life's winding road, if we seek, we shall find what is right for each of us — individually and in our own time.

Art has the power to transform how we understand and respond to climate change. When communities come together through shared creative processes, complex environmental concepts become lived, emotional experiences — making climate issues feel personal, urgent, and solvable. 🌿
Community art projects build shared ownership between artists, communities, and scientists — strengthening the social bonds essential to long-term resilience. 💪

We hope to see you there!
