OpenAI alleged in a court filing on Tuesday that an ex-employee who returned to Apple sent over 100 confidential files about an unreleased device to personal accounts. The worker had joined OpenAI from Apple and returned after six months.
The employee allegedly later presented OpenAI's product plans to senior Apple leadership months ago, the filing claimed. OpenAI said it was concerned its secrets were circulating inside Apple.
Apple denied the claims, saying it found no evidence and has policies to protect former employers' information. The case is Apple v. Liu in San Jose. OpenAI asked the court to investigate and allow counterclaims if needed.
