Space: Approx. 500+ sq ft (Yoga studios, galleries, community rooms, or flex spaces).
Vibe: Private, well-lit, and welcoming.
Timing: Weekly or bi-monthly Tuesday morning availability.
Budget: Maintaining Figure Drawing workshops is crucial for the artist community, despite the fact that they are not profitable and must therefore be kept as inexpensive as possible.

🎨 NEW HOME WANTED: Help keep figure drawing Alive! Our time at Sun Gallery is coming to a close at the end of February, they have other uses for the space and we are officially on the hunt for a new sanctuary for our popular Live Figure Drawing Workshops.
We’ve built a beautiful community of artists and models, and we aren’t ready to put down the charcoal just yet!
What we’re looking for:

Keep Hayward’s Creative Heart Beating

For nearly fifty years, the Sun Gallery has been a cornerstone of Hayward’s creative life — a nonprofit art space that has offered exhibitions, youth art classes, and community events since 1976. Generations of families have walked through its doors to experience local art, make something with their hands, and feel part of something bigger.
Now, the Sun Gallery needs the community it has served for decades. Due to a major budget deficit, the City of Hayward has suspended funding for its Community Agency Funding program — a critical source of support for local nonprofits like the Sun Gallery. Without that funding, the future of the gallery, their youth art programs, and their exhibitions are at risk.
