Instead of bringing home souvenirs, we bring home stories đź“–

One of our favorite travel traditions we are building is visiting a local bookstore wherever we go and letting each child choose a book to take home.

Months and years from now, I know the seashells, magnets, and trinkets would end up tucked away in a drawer somewhere. But these books become part of our daily life.

We read them together on the couch, before bed, and throughout the year. Every time we pull one off the shelf, we’re reminded of the places we’ve been and the memories we made there.

Our home library is slowly becoming a collection of adventures, one destination at a time.

We did this so she could do this 🌊🪸🦀🌴

My daughter is texture-sensitive and naturally cautious in new environments, so before our beach trip we spent time bringing the beach home to her through sensory play.

We built sandcastles, explored homemade sand, and practiced with the same kind of tools she’d use on the shore.

When we finally made it to the beach, she wasn’t facing something completely unfamiliar—she was stepping into something she’d already explored through play.

That’s the power of sensory play: turning uncertainty into confidence, one invitation to play at a time.

That’s a wrap on spring farm school 🌿

Here’s the setups that held the season—each one created with intention, curiosity, and a lot of love for how children naturally engage with the world around them.

These were our invitations for learning this spring. Quiet little scenes waiting to be discovered, explored, and transformed once little hands stepped in.

Before the play, before the stories, before the mess—this is how the curriculum came to life in our space: through simple materials, thoughtful themes, and an open door to wonder.

Grateful for this season of slowing down and shaping environments that do the talking for us.

Which setup was your favorite?

What looks like “just” flower soup is actually sensory exploration, fine motor development, imaginative play, language building, problem solving, emotional regulation, and connection happening all at once.

That’s why sensory play matters so much to me — because children learn best through meaningful hands-on experiences that invite them to slow down, explore, create, and wonder.

In our family and within our community, I want to create more opportunities for childhood that feels gentle, curious, creative, and deeply connected.

And the beautiful part?
The kids just think they’re making flower soup 🌼

Flowers are always the biggest hit in tray setups!🌼🌸

Today was water day at Hidden Creek Family Farm of Taylorsville so what better day to bring out our flower soup setup.

That wraps up spring farm school/tot time and what a great time it was! We can’t wait to work alongside Music with Mrs. H for moovin’ and groovin’ on the farm!

Today was slow at the market… but maybe not in the ways that matter most.

We spent the morning building sand castles together using homemade sensory sand while getting ready for our beach trip next week. Sensory play has been such a gentle way to help familiarize her with the texture of sand before we go.

Some days business looks productive. Some days it looks like sitting beside your little girl making memories between customers.

Both matter 💛💚

Every order that comes through my shop is made slowly, intentionally, and completely by hand from my kitchen to your home 🍋 💚

This lavender playdough order headed all the way to Georgia filled with real lavender blooms, calming essential oils, and so much care packed into the jar.

Supporting small businesses means supporting real people, handmade processes, late nights creating, and mothers building beautiful things for other families.

Thank you for being here and allowing my creations to become part of your childhood memories.
