Soo it’s a Monday… and my day off… but I’ve been working all day. 😆👏🏼🤦🏼‍♀️

My website has been being updated almost daily… not joking. There’s always something new on there. Might look the same to some but I have spent dayyyyssss getting things on there that are only available in my shop so that I can ship all the things to all my new friends from out of state!! I have kidnapped all the dream catchers from my shop that aren’t online yet and will be taking pics and posting them tmrw… then hauling them back to the shop before I open Wednesday.

Days off where?? I don’t remember signing up for 7 day works weeks butttt it’s one of the joys of being a small business owner!! It’s hard to hate it when I actually enjoy doing this.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and since it is the reason behind my business, I wanted to find a way to give back to a local mental health organization.

For the entire month of May, any tip or “keep the change” I got was being held as a donation. I kept $0 of it for myself and donated to the jar randomly myself when I’d have change back from food or cuz I felt like it. I didn’t push it on anyone… I simply set a jar out with the sign and let it happen on its own. I would tell people after the fact what I was doing with the digital tips because I didn’t want to beg for them.

I didn’t do this for a big publicity stunt for my business or myself either… this s**t hits close to my heart and I don’t want people to go thru what I have mentally so that’s why I’m out here screaming about mental health and not giving a s**t who it makes uncomfortable.

I chose Cedar Rapids HOPEwalk to donate to this month and together we raised more than I thought we would!! I say “we” because with the help from just the people who visited my shop, I get to take a bigger donation to HOPEwalk than I thought I would.

I appreciate everyone who stopped by and donated to this little fundraiser I impulsively put together for the month!! Together we can make a big difference!!

Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I really had to try not to scream the ending as loud as I could 🤣👏🏼 idk if you can tell how excited I am based on me saying it THREE TIMES 😆🤦🏼‍♀️ I left all of them in this to slightly embarrass myself and prove to y’all that I’m a human and make mistakes. THIS is why I didn’t do a live video… 😂

Hiiiii friends, followers, supporters and stalkers of my business!!

As many of you know, May is Mental Health Month and I wanted to do something big since mental health is my whole big reason for starting this. I have a cute little jar set up in my shop at NewBo City Market set up to accept cash donations and I chose Cedar Rapids HOPEwalk to donate the funds to this month and am sharing this for full transparency.

I said I was donating all the tips I got this month as well... digital and cash. I wasn't joking. So far we have over $150 that I get to add to my jar tomorrow and it just keeps growing!! I have retaken this pic multiple times today so this is the one y'all get to see. It has more added to it already. I have NO IDEA how much cash there is but I see at least one $20, $10 and a couple $5's mixed in with some 1's and loose change.

I have been throwing money into it daily and not writing it down, so I truly have no idea and y'all will get to find out with me tmrw after I close for the day!!

I will be contacting HOPEwalk and arranging a time to drop off the donation and I will absolutely be participating again this year with team Bumblebee Lotus!!

Something full circle about posting this lineup this year!! I attended this last year as my first ever event at NewBo City Market and I absolutely fell in love with it here!

I was outside last year and funny enough... just about right in front of the window where my shop is now located inside!! I will be here from 10am-8pm and am SO excited to see everyone!!

If you see me running around recording things during this event, no ya didn't... shhh. 😂 I have SO MANY vendor friends coming and I def have to make my rounds and say hi to everyone!! My hubby will be with me for at least part of the day so when I'm not in my shop, he will be!!

Come check it out THIS SATURDAY!! 😁💛 I'M SO EXCITED!!

Because when people catch me in pics I’m usually making a weird face or doing some goofy pose… someone caught me in a moment I wasn’t doing either thing.

This is the moment I cut the ribbon and “officially” opened my shop… 3pm on Sunday. My smile is real, I’m not doing anything weird, and it’s a rare moment that I wanna have pop in my memories feed a year from now.

I’ve had the best experience opening a shop at NewBo City Market and I can’t wait for the insanely busy summer to start!! 👏🏼

I had THE BEST DAY today!
Long post warning! 🙃

It was the official grand opening of my shop at NewBo City Market and I was busy from the time I opened til the time I closed, which is why there was no fun post made by me til now. 😅

Today started with a wardrobe malfunction- not quite like Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl level, but enough to make me have to switch up my entire planned outfit within 5 minutes, hauling ass to the shop and attempting to be set up by 1030am at least.

For the first time, I was not cold in NewBo, and I am pretty positive it was nerves. I don’t throw parties for myself- I’ve always just kinda thought it was weird- but today felt right. I even wore a dress today instead of my usual hoodie and jeans or sweatpants combo. 😅👏🏼

My husband walked around to give away raffle tickets to the other vendors and shop keepers at NewBo City Market and my mom manned the “gift + giveaway + snack” table for everyone else that came through. I had 5 raffle prizes up for grabs and another fun guess the number of honeycombs in the jar game and it was so fun to see all of the entries at the end of the day!! I will be posting the winners and contacting them tomorrow!! I’m taking tonight off to celebrate!! 💛

I am so thankful I had my mom snag a cookie for me from my snack basket today cuz they were gone by 2pm! 🤣 Anyone who knows how good the cookies are from Bread and Buttered Bakery knew to run over immediately and check things out and get one!! HUGE THANK YOU to my friends there for making cookies (and the cutest labels) for my grand opening!! 💛

I did my official ribbon cutting at 3pm today and was put on the spot and asked for a speech… which I so eloquently delivered, of course. 😂 and I was so nervous and so excited all at the same time to cut a piece of ribbon in half that it kinda makes me wanna cry now that it really just happened and is starting to sink in as I write this.

Being surrounded by people I love and customers I’ve grown to know personally was everything to me. There were some that couldn’t make it and I truly understand and didn’t ever expect anyone to actually come anyway since it was supposed to be Friday 😅 but I was so surprised how many people came to say hi. I wish I would’ve got pictures with everyone but I was in the moment and it wasn’t something I was thinking about til the end of the day and I STILL forgot people. 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

The amount of love and support y’all have shown me is so wild and I’m so so so freaking grateful!! I still wonder at times if my heart might explode cuz of how many hugs I have had in the last month from people I barely know or just met… it’s the BEST feeling to know I’m not just out here talking to myself on here anymore. It’s scary as s**t but I had 3 people yesterday tell me thank you for posting what I do and being like I am. I hugged all of them and made one cry and I feel like a jerk for not asking her name- but since I know she will see this- to the woman who came up and tapped me on the arm, just know I totally cried after you left lol 😆 I had JUST told my friend that it happened to me earlier. I needed those reminders… so THANK YOU. Thank all of you. You all know who you are. 🫶🏼

Ahhhh I’m not gonna cry… gonna make it thru this… 🥹 wooosahhhhhh.

Main reason for this post is a giant ass thank you, but for not just showing up for me today… for showing up period.

My mental health donation jar is getting full y’all. I haven’t counted it… but I know it’s hitting the point where it’s hard to shake it all down now and all of the tips I’ve received this month have gone into the jar. I am so grateful and proud of our community for giving a s**t about mental health and being excited about giving back to a local organization. 💚

I couldn’t have asked for a better day today… thank you to everyone who showed up today and to those who were there in spirit! 🥰

I hope everyone has a great night!! I’m gonna go have a steak now cuz I totally deserve one. 😎🥩
