The most frustrating part about cutting saw blades no one talks about. You can measure thickness and get settings close, but over the decades material has changed numerous times. Its a variable that cant always be determined. Being able to adapt and adjust settings on the fly is what separates making quality cuts from potentially having to throw it in the trash.

Design is set. Program is loaded. Blade is prepped. Positioned correctly. Hopefully we didn't miss anything.

When you are cutting something like this, there is only one shot. You check and double check yourself each step along the way. And hope that there isn't an issue during the cut.

One blade.

Trying all kinds of new things this week! We cut our first hand saw and fittingly put a logger with his chain saw watching over his tree he just fell. The measuring and setup has to be just right so that there isn't a mistake when cutting.

Cutting this saw blade material is a learning experience, but one worth having. Each peice of material can be slightly different steel mixes. While we can get pretty close we are having to adjust during the cut just a little bit to optimize cutting and minimize dross.

This week we will be dialing in some settings for saw blades. We are starting off with some chunks of bandsaw blades that we picked up. The high carbon of saw blades make them harder to cut and we will be dialing in our settings for some future projects/orders.
