⚡️STORYTIME⚡️
I found these minimalist magnetic vases when brainstorming how to best display my Painted Petals for retail. I needed something secure enough to hold 1-2 stems without falling off when customers pick up the stems. I ended up gluing the vases to the acrylic board for extra stability, so the whole magnetic part was irrelevant.

Once I dropped off my display, I still had 6 of these little vases laying around. The magnetic ones. I’m working on creating a simple kit that would include a Blank Bloom, a few paint pens, and a little vase to display the Painted Petal in - a fun kit and creative moment to gift yourself or someone special. I envisioned the magnetic vase hanging on the mirror in a pretty powder room - a unique touch for guests to enjoy. I knew the reflection in the mirror would show the painted backside - a nice little surprise!

I also thought these vases would double as a fun way to add some floral flare to a refrigerator - the one thing many of us open + close (and stare into) multiple times a day. Maybe a pretty flower can spread a little joy in the midst of the chaos that often occurs in our kitchens…

I’m here to share that, at the tender age of almost 40.5 years old, I have learned that, in fact, mirrors + most fridge front panels ARE NOT MAGNETIC?!………WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS? oopsies…🤪

So, we pivot. These magnetic vases WILL stick to white boards, which would make a really thoughtful teacher gift, BTW…😉 BUT here we are in our downstairs powder room, where CHATGPT has removed all of my sons’ toothbrushes and toothpastes from the background of the image, and I used a little round VELCRO dot to attach the vase to the mirror. I am happy to report that we are on hour 3 and it’s still happily hanging!

Anyway, just a day in the life of an artist mama trying + failing + trying again…and also learning. about magnetic things. and NOT magnetic things…🌸
