Welcome, and I am very glad you are here to read about why I joined Scentsy!! My name is Kelsay, and I joined Scenty because not only do I love the product, but also because of my story. I began selling Scentsy to escape from some of my troubles and to help me get through some of my challenging times in life. I love Scentsy and am working hard to grow my business because of the amazing products.
My message is to spread my story, and hope it will touch your heart your heart. All I want in life is to help others and inspire them; and Scentsy lets me do that. I am able to make amazing connections with awesome people like you through this business, so I love my “job”!. This business is one of the best things that has happened in my life. I was only four years old when my life was forever changed. Because of a candle, I was burned on 43 percent of my body. I had decided I wanted to be a "big girl" and blow out the flame when the string of my sundress landed in it, catching fire. In my mind, I thought I was going to die. I ran to my mom while still engulfed in flames, and she rushed me to the bathroom. Once we were in the bathroom, she placed me in a cold shower. After my Mom called my Dad and they put me into the car to rush me into the Emergency Room. In the ER, the doctor called the air ambulance to transport me to a larger hospital that could handle my burn. I was in the ICU of the hospital’s burn trauma center in Sioux City. Once I developed aspirated pneumonia, I was transported to a different burn unit who could handle my additional condition. Five days after burn, I had my first operation. Five days after that, I crashed and they lost me for a short time. During this time, I believe I went to heaven, and when I was revived, I began to improve. Because of my burns and pain levels, the doctors placed me a medically sedated coma for three weeks. Finally, after 53 days in the hospital I was allowed to leave. Once I was out, I entered an intensive therapy facility for one month. Because of my injuries and subsequent coma, I had to re-learn how to walk, use my arm, and be able to go back to living my life. The year of the incident was the hardest year of my life. Twelve years have passed, and I have had dozens of surgeries to repair my body and to help my burns heal and allow my body to work correctly. Despite my injuries, I have played football until an injury ended me playing. I have also played softball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. I have been bullied because of my appearance from my burns. Because of my injuries and subsequent bullying issues, I do suffer from PTSD and depression. I also have a foot injury from football, stress headaches and stomach problems. None of that will get me down though, I still strive for greatness, and I will achieve my goals! Because I was burned, I am now afraid of candles. I cannot work due to my medical issues, so Scentsy is my job, and I hope to be my legacy. I hope my story provided you with inspiration. Whether it be inspiration to live your life to the fullest or to support my mission, I am grateful. I have used my accident to change other’s lives, so I hope that I changed yours in a positive way.
