Part Three of the Fall Bonfire Series: Ghoulflame Jukebox

These were taken on Sunday 10/12/2026, another gorgeous October night. Not too hot, not too cold. Just perfect. We listened to the sweet songs of Twin Temple The Creepshow ,
and Patsy Cline.

This series dives into the quiet magic of a fire that burns cleaner, brighter, and more colorful than expected. Deep ember reds pulse at the base, while rare streaks of blue rise like enchanted breath. The flames twist into sculptural shapes — soft curls, sharp peaks, fleeting silhouettes — each one glowing against the dark like a spell caught mid‑cast. There’s no heavy smoke, no chaos. Just color, motion, and the kind of warmth that feels almost otherworldly. These images aren’t just fire — they’re moments of living light.

Being able to go to the beach almost whenever we want is amazing. Living close to Lake Michigan is a dream. The sunsets are breathtaking. It's amazing how different they are from one another every night. The different beaches are fun to explore and I love taking my sphere to see how it looks with the different textures, waves and colors.

I am very excited to share that this photo was selected to be Digitally showcased in the "Powerful Lighting" exhibition at Artful Yoga Gallery, in Melbourne, Australia.

Yes, my photo is getting to see Australia before I do.

The GuruShots exhibition will be
January 16th and 17th, 2027. 10am-6pm

With a remarkable collection of 100+ printed works (and a wealth of digital winners) submitted by photographers spanning 30+ countries, this inclusive group show is not one to be missed. 📸

Unfortunately being in January in a foreign country, I am unable to attend the event. It is still an honor to be selected for this opportunity.

I took this picture back in 2015 on the beach off Lake Superior. I had gone with friends for a vacation for about 5 days to the UP in Michigan for a getaway. We rented an air b & b in the woods on the lake. For June, it was freezing at night but it was quiet and peaceful. It was the first time that I saw a glimpse of the Northern Lights, not all of them but the faint glow of green and purple hue in the night sky. Late at night we would sit out here and listen to the waves in the pitch black.

I am very proud to share that my photo was selected to be Digitally showcased in the "Best of Black & White" exhibition at Valid World Hall, in Barcelona, Spain October 30th thru Nov. 1st of this year!

Thanks to GuruShots for more exposure!

Being that the event is overseas, unfortunately I won't be able to see this being shown in person, but still a very cool opportunity to share with those that do attend.

Part Two Of the Fall Bonfire Series
"Haze Of Emberlight"

I am very proud of this fire because I built it and lit the flames for it to burn. I love of we got a bit more smoke with this one so I could experiement with capturing both the flames and the smoke together.

I took this photo last year on our east coast trip. Such a cool structure to get to see in person during a chilly, rainy fall morning.

"The Buffalo (Main) Light is a lighthouse at the mouth of Buffalo River/Erie Canal, directly across from the Erie Basin Marina in Buffalo, New York. The lighthouse was established and lit in 1833 and was deactivated in 1914. The foundation material was a stone molehead and the lighthouse was constructed out of limestone and cast iron. The shape of the tower was octagonal and was 60 feet (18 m) high. The lens installed in 1857 was a third order Fresnel lens. The lens was later removed to the Buffalo History Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984." (WIKIPEDIA)

Sadly I am unable to attend in person due to it being overseas but I am proud to share that my photo was selected by GuruShots to be Digitally showcased in the "Black & White Photographer of the Year" exhibition at The Coningsby Gallery, in London, UK on December 18th thru 20th, 2026.

Hummingbirds have to literally be one of the hardest animals I have ever tried to photograph. I have gotten lucky in the past and snagged a couple decent pictures but this past trip up to my parents I made it a goal to get better at it. It's a lot of waiting around 😂 I spent whatever patience I had sitting in front of the window in the morning, or whenever I would see them frequent the feeder that my mom has out back, waiting for them to arrive. They don't wait around for you to snag a picture that is for sure. They come hungry, drink as fast as they can and fly away before you even notice that they were there. Amazing little birds, beautiful colors and I cannot wait to be back again to capture more in the future.

"Making A Wish On A Lightning Storm"

This photo was taken a few nights ago at the beach. Storms sometimes pass over the lake in a way that feels almost cinematic — distant flashes, slow-moving clouds, and the occasional heat lightning from miles away.

Lately, Aria has been fascinated by watching them. I loved capturing her taking it all in from a safe distance during sunset, and I finally managed to catch lightning on camera for the first time.
