Things you might not notice are done with a purpose.

The mirrored coffee table reflects the room instead of blocking it. Two mirrors, not one, so the room feels layered, not repeated. Mismatched vessels on purpose, so the console feels collected, not purchased as a set. The lamps sized to the art, not the corners.

Everything is intentional. Even the things you never noticed.

Why you should rethink a TV above the fireplace.

It seems convenient, but it forces you to crane your neck up every time you watch it, and it turns the fireplace — the room's natural focal point — into a mounting bracket. There's almost always a better wall for the TV, even if it takes more planning to find it.

Our client said, "I feel like we don't need all of that." Are all these parts really necessary?

Yes. Every single one. Well, the way we do things.

The patterned tile over the plain wall. The two-tone desk over the flat one. The bold graphic wallpaper over the solid color. Take any of it away, and the room loses its edge — it just becomes safe.

Nothing here is decoration for decoration's sake. Every part is doing a job.

The internet is ruining interior design.

Everyone's an "expert" with a Pinterest board and an opinion. Trends move so fast that spaces get decorated for a moment instead of designed for a life. Good design isn't about keeping up — it's about knowing what will actually hold up, in style and in function, ten years from now.

Not everything trending deserves a place in your home. What YOU like deserves to be in YOUR home.

I beg of you... FLOAT YOUR FURNITURE.

This is the biggest mistake we see and the easiest fix to elevate your home.

Pushing everything against the walls feels like it creates more space, but it actually leaves a dead zone in the middle of the room with nothing to anchor around. Pulling furniture in creates a defined seating area, a natural flow, a room that feels finished instead of just furnished.

The fix costs nothing. It just takes moving things a few feet.
