Sometimes you do not realize that you have come full circle with your designs.

Gathering information on a new project for Chef Michael Lachowicz, I came across these photos.

Photo #1 was when the Chef and I first met to discuss design opportunities for Restaurant Michael. The curtains were used to close off the space near the front of the restaurant when hosting more private events.

Photo #2 Is the outcome from that initial conversation. Having lightened up the space by removing the center curtain panels, replacing the curtains on the outer windows with a more lux and transparent material. We also painted the space in a calming white and cream color combination.

Photo #3 Shows the transformation and re-branding of Restaurant Michael into two separate spaces Aboyer and Silencieux. Aboyer means "To Bark" and Silencieux means "Quiet" in French.

I find it interesting that where we once wanted to remove the center panels, to create an open space, has now been separated even more so to create two separate upscale dining experiences.

Closing one restaurant to open two others is a gamble, but it paid off for chef-owner Michael Lachowicz.
