Handloomed from organic cotton by 20 talented women artisans in a remote village in India, each towel is woven on traditional looms without electricity. Not because they’re trying to unplug from modern life, but because electricity outages are simply part of daily reality.

International Women’s Day is often described as a celebration and I’ve been thinking about the women who keep life stitched together—
often quietly, often without credit, always with strength.

TerraKlay exists because we believe in a different kind of economy—one built on skill, fairness, and long-term relationships. Many of our makers are women, and every piece carries their patience and pride.

It’s also impossible to ignore what’s happening globally but my hope is that one day we won’t need International Women’s Day as a rights movement—because safety, opportunity, and equality won’t be something anyone has to fight for. And then this day can be what it should always have been: a wholehearted celebration of what women stand for, and what women make possible.
