Most people treat window treatments like an afterthought…
but they’re actually one of the highest-impact design elements in a space.

In this room, the drapery is doing a few very intentional things:
• Softening all the hard lines from the windows
• Adding height and quiet drama without overwhelming the room
• Framing the view instead of competing with it
• Bringing in texture that makes everything feel layered and complete

And notice—nothing about it is loud.

That’s the point.

Great drapery doesn’t scream. It elevates everything around it. Swipe LEFT to see BEFORE

The Designer and UE teamed up to execute Design + Function with these show stopping drapery; elevating the room, as they raise sight lines beautifully -almost raising the volume of the space with elegance and subtle lustre. Amazing how that’s done, all while being perfectly flush mounted within the angled bay.

At UE custom fabrication makes everything possible. Dialing up casual-living without forgoing sophistication is something we specialize in. Details matter even if they hide in plain view.

This primary suite had everything going for it — soaring ceilings, a statement window, fireplace, beautiful natural light, but our client HATED it, so we got to work.

But it felt unfinished. Echoey. Cold.

The architecture deserved softness and we knew we had to find ways to absorb sound for this to truly be a comfortable place of retreat each night.

So we took to grounding the space with the perfect custom window treatments:
• Full-height drapery to ground the arched window
• Classic polished nickel hardware from Italy and gorgeous wool crepe drapery fabric
• Room darkening lining for deep night’s sleep
• Matching roman shades scaled perfectly with the adjacent windows

Same footprint.
Completely different feeling. Swipe left to see BEFORE.

Why these drapery look expensive (it’s not just the fabric)

The windows are where a room either settles… or soars.

•Height that makes the ceilings feel taller.
•Corners resolved cleanly so the lines never break.
•Fullness that frames the view like artwork.
•A bold textile that sets the entire mood of the space.

This is the layer that makes everything else feel intentional.

Behind it is precision. Careful field measuring. Subtle adjustments to balance symmetry on walls that are never perfect. The small judgement calls that make it all feel effortless.

For designers, we protect your vision.
For homeowners, we handle every detail from start to finish.

In Chicagoland, we provide full service measure, consult, fabrication and installation.

When drapery is done right, the whole room feels elevated.
