I Thought Painting These Beams Would Take a Weekend... 😭

Pulling off the tape was the finish line, but getting here felt like a marathon. What I thought would be a quick project turned into a month-long battle of paint, ladders, sore arms, and frustration.

Seven ceiling beams later, I can confidently say... I will NEVER do this again. 😂

To make things even more fun, I chose a high-gloss finish. Beautiful? Yes. Forgiving? Absolutely not. The paint was runny, dripped everywhere, and every mistake showed. Add in heavily textured ceilings and walls, and getting a straight line felt nearly impossible.

At some point I gave up on the tape and figured out a way to freehand some of the beams instead. It wasn't easy, but it worked.

Was it torture? Yes.
Am I exhausted? Also yes.
Did it turn out amazing? 100% YES. 🙌

A few of these “kitchen cabinets” are actually nightstands.

Sometimes the best design moments happen when you stop following the rules. I wanted a more custom, furniture-style look, so I found a way to create it without using traditional cabinetry everywhere. And honestly… it ended up looking even better. 🖤

Good design is about being creative and seeing potential where other people don’t. Thinking outside the box is what makes a home feel unique, custom, and unforgettable.

POV: You just made basic subway tile look custom AF for basically nothing.

This is your sign to stop thinking expensive automatically means better design.

I took basic white subway tile and paired it with a linear mosaic sheet that I literally cut apart to create the black liner detail. The result? A custom designer look without the designer price tag.

The secret to making a home feel expensive isn’t always about spending more money… it’s about being creative enough to see possibilities other people miss.

Good design is knowing how to make simple materials look intentional, elevated, and custom. And honestly? That’s where the magic happens.

The Small Details Are Either Selling Your House… or Killing the Sale

The details are what make a home feel expensive. Most buyers won’t walk into a house and say “the proportions are off” or “these finishes clash”… but they’ll feel it immediately. That subconscious feeling is what can make or break a sale.

Good flips are not just about pretty materials. The design has to fit the architecture of the home, the finishes need to work together, and the construction quality has to match the aesthetic. Random trendy fixtures thrown together will never create a cohesive space.

The homes that sell quickly are the ones where every detail feels intentional. From the hardware placement to the lighting to the textures and finishes… it all matters.

POV: you finally discovered the most flirty countertop finish.

Leathered granite is the sexy countertop finish nobody talks about enough. Even the name sounds expensive. It has a soft, touchable texture with just enough dimension to make polished countertops feel boring. Not flat like honed. Not shiny like polished. Just warm, rich, moody perfection.

And the second people run their hand across it?
Immediate: “oooooohhhh…”

Leathered granite might’ve just ruined every other countertop for me.

Lighting should never be an afterthought. It’s the jewelry of a home. The mood setter. The drama. The personality.

You do not have to gut a bathroom to make it beautiful again.

The original wood sliding closet doors stayed.
The vanity stayed.
I just updated the floor tile, faucet, mirror, and shower head to give it a fresh mid-century modern feel.

Simple updates > removing all the character. ✨

Never underestimate an angry woman with a crowbar 😤🔨

This wasn’t drywall… this was 80+ year old fiberboard that had been soaking up every weird old house smell imaginable. The entire house smelled stale no matter what I did, and once I realized THESE walls were the culprit, it was game over.

So I grabbed a hammer, a crowbar, and started ripping. Out. Every. Single. Nail.

There’s something deeply therapeutic about tearing into a wall that’s been driving you insane 😂 And when that last giant board came out in ONE PIECE? Pure satisfaction. The kind that deserves a slow motion replay.

When a woman is on a mission, she gets it DONE. No excuses. No waiting around. Just sweat, rage, and demolition dust 💅

The Bali trip that inspired the vision for my future home. ✨🌿
Every corner of Bali had me taking mental notes for my future home… the outdoor showers that feel connected to nature, lush greenery spilling from inside to out, rough hewn stone mixed with warm wood, elegant black furniture against organic textures, pools hidden inside tropical gardens. It wasn’t about copying what I saw… it was about capturing how it made me feel.

That’s exactly the energy I want for my primary bath — an indoor/outdoor retreat layered with texture, patterns, natural materials, elegant lighting, and pieces that feel collected and personal. A home should reflect the places that move you, the things you love, and the feeling you want every time you walk into a room.

The best design inspiration comes from living life, traveling, exploring, and seeing beauty in different cultures and spaces. Now I’m already dreaming about my next trip and what it will inspire next. ✈️

🚨 The Kitchen Upgrade I’ll NEVER Skip Again 👏🔥

Nothing ruins a beautiful kitchen faster than a clunky microwave or one of those cheap under-cabinet hood vents hanging over the stove. 😭

This is the upgrade that instantly makes a kitchen look custom: hide the vent hood INSIDE the cabinet. The insert is built into the bottom so you still get ventilation, but now you also get extra storage and shelving above the range. Functional AND aesthetic? We love a multitasking queen. ✨
