Yesterday I lost one of the greatest men in my life unexpectedly. Without him, I would not be where I am today. He taught me everything, from all the sports I played to learning how to use power tools to start my passion for woodworking, he was there for me everyday and raised me into the man I am today.

This picture is one of the few I have of us building something together. Over the summers when I came home from college I would come over from sunrise to sunset and build random 2x4 furniture. I never actually made any money as he would buy the material for more than the furniture I made and sold. That’s how I know that the time we spent was more valuable than anything. I will miss those days and I know in another life we will get the chance to have another catch and build something together again.

If there is one thing In this life I hope to carry on from him is his passion. His passion for his family and his passion for teaching. He taught math his whole life up until his final day and loved his students and community like no other. All he ever wanted was the best for those around him and went above and beyond to provide for everyone.

It will always be hard to accept this as I always thought we would have more time but I am grateful for the time we did have and all the memories. I love you Papa.
