A small, closed-off kitchen became the heart of this 1920s Craftsman home 🏠

Welcome to Part 3 of Ryan and Allison’s home transformation, and today, we’re taking you inside their kitchen!! ☺️

For this space, we combined their love of Dark Academia with the character of the original home: rich green cabinetry, a statement AM/PM bar, and thoughtful details that connect the new addition to the original dining room.

A 1920s Craftsman home, a growing family, and a first floor that needed to work harder.

In Part 2 of Ryan and Allison’s home transformation, we’re showing you the new mudroom and powder room!

Custom cubbies and a built-in bench make the mudroom work for everyday family life. And this powder room… Allison told us at the beginning of the project that she loves the Dark Academia style, and just look at the final result! The beautiful Aspen wallpaper from York Wallcoverings is one of our favorites!

🔨 Keep tools, paint, and building materials safely out of reach
🐶 Use baby gates or closed doors to keep curious paws away from the work zone
🌿 If your pet gets stressed by the noise, consider a walk, daycare, or time with a friend during the busiest hours

For Taft Van Stricklin & Mina St primary bathroom, we paired the Context ceramic tile from ANN SACKS with Gucci wallpaper!

Erin visited the Ann Sacks Tile & Stone showroom in Portland while working on this project. For over 40 years, Ann Sacks has been celebrated for timeless tile and stone with incredible artisan craftsmanship. Their approach to tile and stone brings a real sense of artistry to a space.

How do you remodel a 1920s Craftsman bungalow without losing its charm? Our ECM team knows the answer 😎

Ryan and Allison wanted to make their Hyde Park home work better for their family of five. The original kitchen was too small, and they also needed a first floor bathroom. Instead of tearing it down, they chose to preserve the home’s character and … add a new addition! Our challenge was to make the new and old feel like they were always meant to be together 💫

This remodel is amazing! It started as a small bathroom that was too tight for a family of four, plus an unused bedroom and hallway space. The ECM team transformed it into two beautiful bathrooms and a huge closet!
