Today’s a complicated one.
As a newly planted small family business (especially after a week of closures and very quiet days thanks to the snow), we need to remain open to keep the lights on.
We stand firmly with those who are using today to demand humane and just immigration policies, and fully support the message behind this movement. At the same time, we believe that meaningful, lasting change also grows from strong connected local communities.
However you’re choosing to participate today - striking, organizing, resting, or just getting through - please remember that many small businesses can’t afford to close. Consider stopping in to support your local shops (use cash when possible!).
Let’s keep the real pressure aimed at large corporations and systems of exploitation, not independent, local, and minority owned businesses that keep communities alive.
Take care of each other. Stay safe, stay warm, and keep pushing for something better. 🐦🫶
