As I finalize the details for launch day, I keep coming back to this. This isn’t a side hustle. It isn’t a main hustle. It’s not a hustle at all.
It’s a slow dance. A stroll down an old dirt road lined with barns that have seen better days and farmhouses that still hold their quiet charm.
That’s the feeling behind Clare Candle Co., a collection of hand poured candles and thoughtful pieces meant to help you slow down and notice what is already beautiful.
Each candle begins in a reclaimed vessel, old glass, forgotten kitchen pieces, things that already lived a life before they ever became part of this. I love that something once overlooked gets to become part of someone’s everyday again.
The scents are signature blends inspired by Clare, fresh wildflowers, woodland air, lakes, and that quiet calm that settles in when you stop rushing through it.
Alongside the candles are small journaling kits, paper pieces, textiles, and simple details meant to turn ordinary moments into something you pause for instead of pass by. A way to hold memories somewhere more lasting than your phone.
Nothing here is meant to feel fast. It is meant to feel familiar.
Clare is a place people choose to come to on purpose. To slow down. To breathe. To sit by the water, walk through our quaint downtown, and remember what it feels like to not be in a hurry. And some of us are lucky enough to call it home.
And this whole thing is just an extension of that.
A reminder to slow down.
To notice what is already here.
And to let old things feel new again.
