All my practice baking over the last 2 years or so is really starting to pay off. I didn’t know what to call them, so I’ll just call them Burger Buddies. Basically it is ground beef, onion, cheese, and my version of the sauce that goes on a famous sesame seeded bun burger, stuffed inside homemade dough, then egg-washed, and baked to delicious golden brown perfection. Light, fluffy, and cheeseburgery.

I know I haven’t been posting much over the last several months. I’ve been so busy that I’ve neglected the business a bit. But the show must go on. I was able to compete in a super fun outdoor cooking competition a few days ago at organized by .co and

I was a bit anxious because I don’t tend to do a lot of competitions. I’m glad I decided to, because I was blessed to take home the grand prize for best overall dish!

The main rules were that we only had an hour to cook, and we had to use bacon as the featured ingredient. I even went the extra mile and made my own bacon before the event. 😂 I made what some would argue is a crostini or bruschetta. The bread was toasted in a little bit of bacon grease, and topped with a cream cheese and chive spread, sliced pork chop, and bacon jam. It was so good!

Moral of the story is to go out and do cool things. If you’re feeling anxious to go out and do something fun that will get you out of your comfort zone, just do the thing. I think my shirt pretty well sums it up. Risk it for the brisket.
