This past weekend was the CCAICF Pow Wow and I can't stop thinking about how absolutely breathtaking it was!
The drummers, dancers, vendors, staff & organizers, volunteers, attendees... Everyone made it phenomenal.
Despite being our very first pow wow ever, I was asked to carry a special red dress in the circle. Her story will stay with me always. These indigenous men, women and children were murdered and their stories will stay with us! You will never be forgotten!!
Around the grounds, hanging on trees were educational sheets. I didn't have time to get the pictures I wanted but I got the one. And as we were leaving the grounds this tree captivated us... because just like the info sheet says .. just because something isn't seen doesn't erase their roots! The roots are there, strong and despite being eroded or erased, they remain!!!
As above, So below! 🫶
The most amazing genuine connections were made, stories shared and friendships formed on the historic property this weekend! 💜🌙✨
