Full-service interior design goes far beyond picking beautiful finishes and furniture. From the first concept to sourcing, contractors, installations, styling, and all those little decisions in between, having one team guiding the process can make all the difference.

At Modern Interior Co., we call it “done-done.” Not almost done. Not the contractor is finished done. Actually done. Beautiful, functional, styled, installed, and ready for you to enjoy.

A little coffee corner, but make it beautiful. ☕

Warm wood, soft lighting, natural stone, and just enough styling to make an everyday moment feel a little more special. We love creating spaces that aren’t just pretty—they make the routines of home feel better, too.

It’s all in the details.

This textured herringbone wall brings just the right amount of pattern, while warm lighting and simple styling keep the space feeling modern and elevated. Proof that even the smallest corners deserve a little design moment.

This dining room understood the assignment. 🙌

Warm wood, oversized windows, cozy textures, and a statement light that knows how to make an entrance. We kept everything else simple and let the architecture—and that gorgeous view—do the talking.

Modern, inviting, and ready for everything from morning coffee to dinner that turns into a three-hour conversation.

Because the best spaces don’t just look good. They make you want to stay awhile.

You don’t need to know your design style. You don’t need a perfect Pinterest board. And you definitely don’t need to have every detail figured out.

Before working with an interior designer, start by simply writing down what isn’t working and what you’d like to change.

Think about the rooms that frustrate you. Furniture you need. Storage or layout problems. Projects you’ve been putting off. And even the things you’d eventually love to do—even if they aren’t in the budget right now.

Then start gathering inspiration. Save the rooms, colors, furniture, textures, and details that make you stop scrolling. They don’t have to match.

That information gives your designer something much more valuable than a perfectly planned vision: a picture of how you want your home to look, feel, and function.

One of our favorite shifts happening in 2026 is a more refined approach to maximalism.

This doesn’t mean filling every available surface.

It means letting your home tell a story.

Books you actually read. Art you love. Pieces you found while traveling. An antique next to something modern. Pattern mixed with texture. Something inherited sitting beside something brand new.

Instead of buying everything from one collection so it perfectly coordinates, interiors are becoming more layered, personal and collected over time.

The result is a home that feels less like a showroom and more like you.

That’s a trend we’re happy to keep around.

If you’ve been convinced that everything needs to be light oak to feel current, you may want to reconsider.

Dark wood is making a major comeback in 2026.

Walnut, mahogany, espresso and other deeper stains add weight, richness and character to a room. And we especially love the contrast when dark wood is paired with warm neutrals, natural textiles, stone, glass, or antique silver.

The goal isn’t to make a room feel dark.

It’s to give it depth.

Sometimes one dark wood piece—a dining table, vintage cabinet, desk, or built-in—is enough to completely ground a space.

For a long time, interior design leaned heavily into crisp white walls, cool gray, black fixtures, and minimal everything.

2026 is warming things up.

We’re seeing mushroom, cocoa, buttercream, caramel, warm stone, espresso, and other saturated neutrals take the place of colder palettes. Dark woods, tactile fabrics, and layered finishes are coming along with them.

But this isn’t about making everything beige.

It’s about creating rooms that feel comfortable, grounded, collected, and lived in rather than perfectly staged.

At Modern Interior Co., we call this shift Humanized Warmth—and we love what it’s doing to homes.
