Just finishing up this new little one. This garage and truck is in the middle an old commercial area in Colorado Springs. Its always so interesting how some commercial areas built up but this truck and garage still remain. Its tucked back behind a fence in-between a taco shop and a gym.

The carousel at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo was featured at the 1933 Workds Fair in Chicago.
In 1935 Spencer Penrose acquired the carousel and brought to the Zoo. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

With this closeup of the carousel I wanted to feature the beauty of the wooden horses and the beautiful paintings behind them.

If you know Colorado Springs, you know the iconic restaurant and candy shop "Michelle's" . Here is the story behind my painting of the "Michelle's" sign from a few years ago. I dont know if the sign was ever found, but would love to see it one more time.

If you would like more information on this painting you can head over to www.auricgallery.com or visit auricgallery in person.

Had a lazy weekend, but still found some time to work on some small pieces. Spent most of Saturday morning cleaning up the studio. It feels so much better!

I have some bigger pieces that need to get started but I ran out of time. Hopefully this week I can get back on the easle and make some progress. Happy October!

Here is a little story behind a favorite painting "Peak" I love Neon signs!, but there is something about them during the day that realy highlights thier amazing construction. Sign making is such an art. I loved looking closely at all those details for this piece of art and tried to bring them to life.

Available at Auric Gallery in Colorado Springs or online at www.auricgallery.com

Lots of new art in the works! I finished 2 paintings at the same time and forgot to have other things ready, so here we go! 3 new pieces and one commission. It might have only been a short-lived pause in painting, but I usually always have a new painting ready when I finish one...back to work!

New train painting coming your way! This one had so much going on, I am trying to get the rust and extra details just right. I probably have one more session on it, but I just have had so much fun getting back into trains and couldn't wait to share.
I have lots of ideas for names for this one, what would your suggestion be?
