How to Return Home Today
If you’re feeling disconnected or like you’ve messed up too badly to be loved, here are a few simple truths to hold onto:

1. You don't have to clean up first.
The prodigal son was covered in pig mud when his father hugged him. God isn't waiting for you to get your life together, stop your bad habits, or figure out your theology before He welcomes you. He wants to help you clean up after you get home.

2. Your "speech" doesn't have to be perfect.
The son had a whole script ready, but the father interrupted him with a hug. God knows your heart. A simple, "Father, I’m back. I need You," is more than enough.

3. Grace is unearned.
You can’t work your way back into God’s good graces because you never earned your way in to begin with. It’s a gift. Stop trying to be a "hired servant" and start living like a son or daughter.

4. There is a party waiting for you.
The Bible says there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine who don't need to. When you turn back to God, you aren't met with a lecture; you’re met with a celebration.
