I had the true honor of crafting this custom oak retirement chest to celebrate a close friend’s dedicated career in the U.S. Navy. When you build something for a long-time friend, every joint, detail, and finish carries a little extra meaning.
Every aspect of this build was tailored to tell his story:
🇺🇸 Dual corner displays for the American and Wyoming flags
🦅 Detailed custom-engraved Navy insignia and service dates
🛠️ A removable upper tray with warm cherry handles
💙 A navy blue velvet-lined lower compartment showcased behind the front glass
Projects like this are a powerful reminder of why we love custom woodworking—creating timeless, legacy pieces that celebrate monumental milestones and last for generations.

A small sample of what we’ll be bringing to the Morristown Foodees Festival, September 4–6!

This event will mark the debut of our Valor Smoke Series—a new line of handcrafted cocktail smokers featuring uniquely blended flavor profiles designed to elevate your favorite spirits.

We’ll also have an assortment of XL to small charcuterie and cutting boards, handcrafted kitchen utensils, serving trays, bowls, and much more.

And of course, we can’t forget where OAR & OAK began. We’ll be showcasing several challenge coin displays and shadow box designs, with custom orders available for those looking to create a one-of-a-kind tribute piece.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Morristown and sharing some of our newest creations with you!

We have an important update regarding the Foodees event scheduled for September 4–6.

The event has been relocated to College Square Mall in Morristown, Tennessee and will now be held at:

This Memorial Day, all of us at OAR & OAK Tribute Designs pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful for the freedoms their sacrifice protects each and every day.

Today, we remember our fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.
