Current status: in the car on the way to the .potter retreat! I guess we should share some from the last one in Dec. 2024. We're excited to see old friends and meet new ones! And we're going to miss Maddie and Ethan this time 🫶🏻

When I first heard this song and registered the lyric "love will make you fit it all in the car," I immediately saw a montage of all the photos of our cars packed to the absolute brim with flowers. It always felt important to me to document the absurdity and beauty of it. Gathering the photos from over the years made me unexpectedly emotional

- my best friends' weddings
- my mom's wedding
- my aunt's funeral
- my cousin's wedding (her son)
- the first time we needed a uhaul for a big job
- photography retreats we traveled hours for
- passion projects
- and all the clients we love and adore that make this beautiful life possible!

Flowers are pretty much the embodiment of love and at times only love could have convinced us to finagle fragile blooms into every square inch of a vehicle. Photos cannot capture the time, strategy, and sometimes literally blood, sweat, and tears it takes to safely transport flowers from point a to point b. Photos can't capture the spilled buckets, snapped stems, or gentle turns and stops. And I can't make this post without specifically acknowledging the role that Lazarus takes in packing the cars and making sure the flowers are snug and safe. While I'm often putting finishing touches on a bridal bouquet, he's outside planning, tying, and sometimes cursing a little.

To many more slightly stressful but satisfying hours packing cars with flowers this year!

Remembering Michelle and Mario's wedding day feels less like a memory of real life and more like a memory of stepping into a fantasy movie for a day. And if you think we're exaggerating, just know this is the actual song Michelle walked down the aisle to.

Last week we archived over 100 posts, more than 2/3 of our feed. The past few weeks' focus has been on cleansing and resetting this space. Now we're pivoting towards repopulating it with intention - sharing work that reflects the thousands of hours of learning and practice we've put into our crafts. We couldn't think of a better way to start than sharing this sweet and intimate micro wedding ceremony on Mount Hood second shot for .theory 🤍

The past two years have been full of work and growth that we've kept very close to our chests. That's changing this year, but we can't re-enter this space without acknowledging that by protecting our peace a little too hard we've had the unintended effect of silence about important topics. That's not how we like to do things.

Since we first built an online space here we've moved states and our environment has changed significantly. There's a jarring dissonance between our current lives and work and our old ones, and we need to mend that. With large parts of our online audience originating from a place we've outgrown that has majority conservative beliefs, our own platform doesn't always feel like a safe place to be vulnerable and share the work and people we're so proud of. So let's speedrun this part of the process of us reclaiming this space and say:

- F*CK ICE
- F*CK N*Z*S
- free all countries suffering under imperialist occupation
- immigrants make this country beautiful
- no human is illegal on stolen land
- love is love
- black lives matter
- trans people make this country beautiful
- gay and q***r marriage is equal rights
- polyamory/nonmonogamy are part of the LGBTQ+ community and deserve representation
- unrestricted access to 🔫 is never worth a yearly sacrifice of human life
- vaccines are safe and necessary healthcare
- abortion is healthcare
- we have a responsibility to minimize harm while participating in capitalism
- our environment should be a top priority to protect
- disabled people are not a burden on society
- America has religious freedom for a reason and is better for it

There are those who will wish we would be quiet and neutral to make them comfortable. To that we say you're not welcome to consume our art or loving moments of our clients lives if you wouldn't also fight for their rights in the public arena. Weddings and marriage are political and have always been political. Either you're vocally and vehemently on the side of equal marriage for all or you're not. If you are, we're so grateful you're here, and we're excited to re-engage in this space and share people's love and lives with you!

Everyone say F**K the Supreme Court for even considering overturning Obergefell v. Hodges. Anyone that can look at these photos and think "it's okay that some states want to take this away" don't love others in a way that we understand. Gay and q***r marriage forever.
