Late post, tried to put this up Saturday, but cell signal was weak.

The fundraiser auction was on Saturday, and my knife donation with part of the premier tier of the silent auction. I started the bidding at 200, then it quickly jumped straight to 300. There was a minor bidding war that ended at 350. It wasnt what I was hoping for, but it was more than what last years donation went for.

I have never seen clean ground steel form these ridges in a simple bar of san mai after anneal and normalization cycles....

Went to bbc steel, my favorite steel yard, today. Got what I went for plus a little extra. But I found these gems among the scrap. A leaf spring pack and some coil springs for 60 cents a pound? You betcha!

I'm calling it done. Turned it in a little late because I had an issue with glue up. But here it is, my submission to the end of the school year fundraiser auction at Visitation Catholic School. A 279 layer Damascus santoku style chef knife. 8.5 inches long with katalox wood handle and blade protector.
