What a great weekend! Met some great folks and sold some copper! It was hard to say goodbye to my all-time favorite (and largest to date) embossed piece - The Tailing Red. I had a smaller version to take its place on the easel seen here, but I missed the big one which was twice its size and really drew people into the booth. BUT the absolute highlight of the weekend was looking up Saturday as the show was ending for the day and seeing family that made a 7-hour round-trip just to come show support. Wow! 🥰
This was my first show but not my last. I've been invited to do another mid-December, and I'm getting ready for it!

Ready for a great weekend!

Currently working on some 5" x 11" embossed pieces to take to the show in November. I'd like to get a bunch of these ready to go. I think (hope) they'll go over well.

I landed a big one; A place at the American Bank Center Nov.7-9. For all nearby then, come check it out! It's called the Corpus Christi Hollydays Market with over 130 merchants. It's a pretty big show run by what looks to be a great group, and I'm real excited to get my copper goodies in front of folks!

Hoping to show some of the colors a little better, I took some pictures outside. It's better but, believe it or not, they still look better in person. With some of these it's as if the colors are in layers that you can see going down beneath the surface of the metal - almost like an opal. I guess it's an illusion, but it's something to see. It's not something that I can command from the copper (at least not yet but I'm working on it), so it's special when that effect happens.

Here are a few sets of earrings made in the past few weeks, to sell at a local art fair in the near future. The colors are made by a process of heating (with a torch) and cooling the copper, repeating until the desired effect and color is achieved. I really need a better camera, because these pictures don't do them justice. In the pics the colors are washed out by glare. I guess it's because the earrings have a very glossy finish. The pictures of some of them on the table shows the color a little bit better, if you look really hard!

I must say that air-chased copper is my favorite finish. Each piece is unique and always ends up interesting. The small pockets allow me to flame color the copper in ways that aren't possible without those tiny walls. And it looks good uncolored too. Add a pair of earrings and you're set!
