I am struggling to put what I want to say into words today. I’ve had lots of emotions lately.
But, I’m so incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve had into this lil banner business. This business helps support my family monetarily, as I stay at home with my daughter.
I began this lil’ business after my daughter was born. I needed create a little sense of purpose & identity. I absolutely LOVE being a mama, but my struggles with postpartum anxiety & depression have been so real & I’m not afraid to admit that.
I had no idea that this would be the beginning of something God would use in such a big way.
I had SO much fun creating it. And I noticed something…while I was painting, my mind was quiet & focused.
While painting & creating, I’m not consumed by my thoughts. I’m not overthinking. I not in a constant state of worry & fear. I was simply creating.
And in a season where I desperately needed peace, God gave me something that brought it.
Since Shelby’s Sign Shop began in January, I've painted 84 banners, along with a few other painting projects and I have a growing list of orders waiting to be made. I'm amazed that God took something I never planned, a talent that I’ve buried down deep & never let it truly blossom, and a season of my life that felt so difficult mentally & emotionally—and turned it into something that brings me peace, joy, a sense of purpose and an opportunity to help provide a small portion for my family of 3!
And the sweetest part? I get to do it in my own home, so I can still be with my family and be present for the little moments with my baby girl.
I didn't plan this. God did. And that has become one of the best reminders of His faithfulness to me. He can bring beauty from trials we never would have chosen. He can bring purpose from places that once felt so scary. He can bring joy in the midst of such deep aches.
I am so incredibly grateful that He gave me this little passion. Thank you to each of you cheering me on. I pray you continue to choose me as your local banner artist! Your support means everything to me!
& a special shoutout to my husband for supporting me through all of this
