🔥 Apalachicola NF Wildfire Update – 340

The 340 Fire has jumped the road, and firefighting efforts are now focused on containment in that area.

There are very limited evacuations taking place in the area of Coles Corner Road and Sanborn Cemetery Road, west of FL-22/Curtis Mill Road. Residents in the area should remain alert, follow directions from emergency personnel, and be prepared for changing conditions.

All motorists and members of the public should avoid FL-22/Curtis Mill Road and the surrounding area to allow emergency crews to work safely.

The fire is estimated at 1,700 acres and 75% contained. Containment has been reduced as acreage has increased.

Wakulla County Fire Rescue is staging crews in the area for structure protection, while U.S. Forest Service crews continue working to contain the 340 Fire.

Helicopter crews are dropping water to cool active fire areas, allowing heavy equipment crews to improve forest roads and support planned fire operations.

Residents may see smoke plumes in the area.

A special hometown shoutout to Wakulla Fire Rescue for the care and service you provide to our community here in Wakulla County. We are grateful for all you do to keep our families safe.
