The September sale kicked off yesterday. I had a l some hiccups with checkout but, with the help from a member here, I got it all fixed. I decided to include the two clearware unicorns of the new Lucent Collection in the sale, since they are technically ready to ship and not print to order.

I added those and moved some things around in my shop for a better experience overall.

Throw some resin with me!

I had some failures from different resin types and wanted to run some experiments. These clips are unedited, just strung together.

From this experiment I found that the resin can be very tough but thin legs and parts are susceptible to breaking. Adding flexibility will keep them from breaking but I can’t do that with spindly legged guys or they’ll bend too much and we can’t have that.

The first few throws are with the resin I typically use but with longer curing times for rigidity. The Pegasus was from a resin I was curious about but it’s way too brittle so I’ll have to find another job for it. The last two were two different brands. The translucent white was a really old bottle and it held up well. The other was the resin I use at what I find is its optimal cure time.

Design also plays an important part. Again, large bodies on thin legs pose a challenge because too flexible will bend and too brittle will break. No matter what we use, this is still resin and it all has a snapping point, unless it’s a rubber like resin.

Please don’t toss your ponies onto hard tiles. 🤣🤣. This was for science only, using mostly failed prints

I’ll play with more resins and see what happens in the future. But for now enjoy!

Where are my pony lovers at? I know some of you requested these small, sassy creatures! This Welsh Cob Pony is another joyous sculpt from Printed Ponies. 💙 Quick edit: Her name is Dolly!

I love the mane and tail details and the cute face. 🐴🥹

She's just floating along but where is she going? Treats? 🥕 Does she see a friend? 🐎

She would make such an adorable addition to any collection.

Before I left, I wrote this whole post regarding the horns and wing set I uploaded to the album. Of course, Facebook never posted it so here we are.

You may have seen the new horn and wing options pop up on my feed. Everything is priced to scale but I understand that each model is its own unique person that has unique needs. It's best to message me with the measurements you want and work together to get the best fit for your project.

As it said in the description, the prices are for printing only. If I'm also printing the horse, I'll be happy to quote you out on attaching them before shipping.
