Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

1 Corinthians 12:8-11
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

1 Corinthians 12:28-30
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

Today we are looking at the next three things on our three lists.

Peace, Faith, and Teachers.

Who is our greatest teacher?
Who had the most faith a person ever has?
Our Lord Jesus Christ while he was here in the flesh of course.

Let's go and look at a situation where he showed us unwavering faith, perfect peace, and he taught us a great lesson by it..

Mark 4:35-36
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

The Lord showed us through this story an example of our lives.
Sometimes we hear the Lord tell us something and where to go.
We begin the journey and all seems well at first....but sometimes we get resistance from the adversary.
Did Jesus in this instance?

Mark 4:37
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

They did what the Lord told them...and trouble came!
What do you do in a time of trouble?!
They didn't have much time, they didn't see a way out!
They were about to go down in a flood!
What do you do?!

Mark 4:38
And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

What do you do?
You go, and you find Jesus!
You stop what you're doing, you drop everything and go find Jesus!....
And then, he turned everything around, as he always does for us when we call upon him.

Mark 4:39
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Where was Jesus?
The hinder part of the ship of course...
He's always right behind you, watching your back for you, and telling you where to go..

Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

And when the enemy comes in like a flood of great waters, you go and find Jesus, and he's going to lift a standard against the enemy...

Isaiah 59:19-20
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.

Remember what Paul said?
He's not far from every one of us...

Acts 17:27
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

What keeps our hearts and minds?
With all this trouble, all this terror!
Every day bad things are happening around us....but how can we not get carried away in the flood of bad news?....he keeps us with his....

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Our greatest teacher, had the most faith, and gives us the greatest peace.
And with that peace he keeps our hearts and minds.

Why would a teacher need the gift of faith?
We all have faith if we believe and serve the Lord Jesus, but having a special gift of faith can be most needful at times.
Not the quantity, but the purity of it.
Pure faith....you only need as much as a mustard seed of it to move a mountain.
And...
You need it to resist the enemy and their attacks.

Ephesians 6:16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Why such a necessity?
Because when you try and do anything for the Lord Jesus, especially teaching people who are hungry, you will be resisted by the enemy.

Zechariah 3:1
And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

1 Thessalonians 2:18
Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.

You'll be resisted regardless of what you do...but when you do anything the Lord wants you to, you'll get resistance from people, and the devils running them.

Did Jesus get resistance?
Why was there such a terrible storm that came up when he was crossing the sea?
What was on the other side that the devils didn't want him to get to?

Let's take a look in the following chapter....

Mark 5:1-2
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

The devils knew he was casting out devils....and they knew he was coming to the other side where they were...you think they may have tried to stop him?
Did it work?
No, it never does.

Paul was hindered as well during his ministry, and so was Peter, and all the apostles.
They were sent forth to teach, and they all went through things that built their faith, and they knew if they continued in serving God and doing the things he said, they would have peace in those troublous times.

And that may be one of the greatest testimonies, when you, while you're not in the best situation physically, are able to tell someone about the Lord Jesus.
Having the peace of God and being strong spiritually, while it looks to the world that everything is against you.
Paul and Silas had that exact thing happen to them...

Acts 16:23-24
23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

What were they doing?
The work of God.
Paul cast a devil out of a witch, and she lost her ability to do things (because she didn't have powers, just devils), so they caught them and had them beaten, and unlawfully jailed.
And were they in pain?!
They most certainly were!
But they had something that only comes from God, a true and perfect peace that passed their understanding.
And that showed through what they did next....

Acts 16:25
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

They did what?
Did they get angry and try to cause an uproar?
They weren't even legally put there!
But they instead, sang praises to God!
And they were a witness to even the other prisoners who no doubt had seen them go pass with all their cuts and bruises.

Acts 16:26
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Not only were their bands loosed, but everyone's!
And what happened next?!...

Acts 16:27-30
27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And the prisoners didn't leave?!
That's a miracle in itself!

And what did this produce?
What did their pain produce when it was mixed with the peace and faith of God in these teachers?
A church was born in Philippi, which in turn gave us the epistle/book of Philippians.

And the keeper of the prison was scared, he didn't know what was happening, that's why he asked them what he must do to be saved.
Remember, these Romans were superstitious, Paul had been mistaken for a god a couple of times, and that keeper didn't know what, or who, was getting upset enough to shake that place up!
He didn't know what to do!
But Paul gave him the answer of the only thing that really could save him.

We need many things to keep us going.
We need all the fruits of the Spirit, but we can see a certain necessity for these things in the order they are given from these lists.
It's always interesting to see how the Lord places things in order for us.

1 Corinthians 14:40
Let all things be done decently and in order.

And that is why we must know the Word, so we can know what it is that we need, for every situation.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

And...how can we have patience to teach others, without peace?....

2 Timothy 2:24-26
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

The results are in!....

Yesterday I posted another project...but only partially finished.

My followers were tagged so they got to see it first of course, but now, here are the results!

It was a belt!

And I love how the tooling came out!
It's hard to get in all those tiny spots to dye the background, but we'll worth it!

New tooling project....any guesses?....

Simple and slick!

This gentleman wanted something nice with light tooling.
This basket weave was just what he needed.
Reasonably simply compared to my usual tooling, but enough to set it apart from the rest.

He wanted it in solid black, paired with the usual heavy duty buckle.

I really like how this came out and he was also VERY pleased!

Last time we looked at the first on these three lists we see above:
Love, wisdom, and apostles.

This post, we will focus on the next three:
Joy, knowledge, and prophets.

To start, we must understand what prophets are, and what prophecy is.

Prophecy is not confined to telling the future.
God has it as a means of telling us things to come, but, that is not the only function.
It is also to show God's foreknowledge, his power as the final say, and so we can look back at what was spoken.

Looking back at fulfilled scripture, like all the prophecies of Jesus Christ, gives us a great strengthening in our faith.
And by looking back, it also helps us hold stronger to the Lord with the full assurance of his ability to save us in our present troubles.

Matthew 1:22
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Matthew 4:14
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

Matthew 8:17
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Matthew 21:4
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

All these things look backward to show us that Jesus Christ is the one in ultimate authority.
Prophecy is not set up for us to know every future detail and try to change things to our liking (which isn't possible), or to wait until the last minute and then we can serve the Lord.
It's there to strengthen, and to keep us watching..

Luke 12:45-46
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

God put his word together in such a way that, if we really dig into it, we see how close we are to the end every day.
That makes us less and less attached to this world.
So, if he doesn't come tomorrow, you'll be prepared if YOU go to HIM tomorrow.
We aren't promised tomorrow, but we are promised his return, and one of those will come eventually for each one of us.

Revelation 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

What is the testimony of Jesus?
Where do we see him testified of?

The word of God.
Prophecy is also another term for the Bible...

2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:20
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2 Peter 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

We see here the word of God is also referred to as "prophecy".

Why?

Because it is as accurate today, as it was 2,000 years ago.
It STILL speaks to our hearts and tells us our faults, where we need help, what we should compare ourselves with (the word), how to do more for the Lord Jesus, and it even tells us... if certain things happen in one way, the result will end in this manner.

It's a one stop place with answers for every problem.

We see many times through the scripture God warns if you do this evil, this particular judgement will fall upon you, or the nation doing those things.

Jesus Christ is the living Word....
Which is why the Bible points backward, is also accurate in this present time, and tells us of future events, to the point that it makes us watch and pray.

Former, present, and future.....

Revelation 1:4
John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

Revelation 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 4:8
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

So, we have a little more understanding of what prophecy can be, and how that would also effect a prophet.
Not just someone who tells of future events, but one who can tell of biblical things as well.....
Which is why...
You would need knowledge....

Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Out of his mouth....that's why the Bible, is the living...Word!
That's where you find knowledge!

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

What is the knowledge of the holy?
Is it not the word of God?

And if we have the Word in our hearts...that gives us...joy!

What does the word "Gospel" mean?
Good news!
Does good news give us joy?
Can we find the gospel in the old testament?
Yes.
With every....prophecy of Jesus.
We can also find it in types of Christs.
Moses was a type of Christ, and Daniel, David, Abraham, Isaac, Job, and many others in the old testament.
Their lives were a shadow of things that would be fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 15:16
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

The knowledge of God, preached by his servants the prophets, old and new testament, brings joy.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

It brings us joy, and comfort...

1 Corinthians 14:3
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

And the Word of God is also a sword, right?

Ephesians 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Edification, exhortation, and comfort.
Those three things are essential to bring real joy!

What did Peter use on the day of Pentecost?
The Word, the gospel!

Acts 2:40
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Not until he preached the word did people repent and feel conviction.
Then the real joy came after they received the gospel.

And that shows the need for....
Prophets, having the knowledge of the word, to bring the joy of the good news!

The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
But, you can't have the gospel fulfilled in your life without all three of those things.

Death, or repentance.

Romans 6:7
For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Burial, or baptism.

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Colossians 2:12
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Resurrection, or the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Acts 2:17-18
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Ephesians 5:18
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Acts 13:52
And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

So, in conclusion, a prophet is not confined to telling of future things to come, but he/she must also hold the word of God in truth, and have the knowledge of God's unchangeable Word.
And of course, being able to express that, with joy!

Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Something interesting about the fruit of the Spirit...
There are 9 different fruits.
There are also 9 different gifts of the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 12:8-11

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Additionally...there are another 9 different offices he puts people into.

1 Corinthians 12:28-30
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

It's very interesting to look at how these things connect so well with each other.

If we start with the first listed of each, and work our way down, we see how you need that certain gift for each office especially.

If we start with the office, then the gift, then the fruit..(you still need many of these things, but especially those listed in order)...

"And God hath set some in the church, first apostles"

"For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom"

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love"

If you're an apostle, you will need God's word of wisdom, and you will need love.

You're going to be in situations just like the apostle Paul was in, and if you have God's wisdom like Paul did, and a love for God, he will see you through!

You will also need the Word of wisdom to help others, and you'll need a natural caring love for people, that only God can give.

Paul said he would be willing to die and be accursed of it meant it would save his brethren of the flesh...

Romans 9:3
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

Why?!
Because he knew what torment they would be in if they didn't repent.
And the love God had put in his heart gave him that care and desire to see them saved.

What else does real, Godly love, do for us?

2 Corinthians 5:14
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

It gives us constraint, an ability to say no, to also be satisfied in whatever state you are in..just like Paul told us..

Philippians 4:11
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Ephesians 3:17
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

It is part of our foundation, it's what makes us strong, having a love for God.
Doing what he said shows him, how much we love and appreciate what he did for us.
We can't gain our own salvation, but we can show him we really appreciate it, by doing what he said.
And if we are good stewards of what little we have, the Bible says he gives us more.

Galatians 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

And what else?
Faith and love work together too!

Ephesians 6:23
Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:4
Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

1 Thessalonians 1:3
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

2 Timothy 1:13
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:14
And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

And if you were in the situations like Paul, you definitely would need faith too!

2 Corinthians 11:23-28
23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

In all of this, he had a great, loving care, for the churches.
The true agape love that God has for us, giving without wanting anything in return.

And what great love he had, when of the Jews, the ones he preached to, the ones he tried to convert, the ones he tried to show the love of God to, those same Jews...gave him 39 stripes...5 times!!!
They stoned him, they put false witnesses against him, they stirred up the people and lied about him.

But he kept going back for the few, because he was so grateful, for what Jesus Christ did for him, and no doubt too, for what Stephen said before he died....

Acts 7:59-60
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Paul persecuted the church, he had people put in prison, he did some bad things, but that made him labour even more for the Lord Jesus after his conversion.

Acts 22:18-21
18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

He was willing to stay, but God gave him a mission, and he did it with all the might that God gave him to continue.
And why did he labour more than every Apostle?

1 Corinthians 15:9-10
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Jesus told us what happens when the lowest, worst kind of sinner repents...

Luke 7:47
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Paul was forgiven very much, but that made him love God more, and so, he laboured more than they all!

And true love from God, can also hurt, that is also why Paul went through so much..

Hebrews 12:6
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

And no doubt, Paul knew that first hand.
But it's good to be corrected by the Lord.
Why?

Hebrews 12:6
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

And the Lord knows what we need to correct us, and he uses, his word.

Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

What books were opened?!?!!
All the books of the Bible.....

John 12:48
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

And that is what corrects us, and why every word counts, and why every word must be perfect, because it's settled in heaven.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Psalm 119:89
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

And was this John who said it?
Or God?..

Revelation 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Sounds like Jesus Christ knew he had to warn people not to change his word, because he is the living Word, and it's settled in heaven.

I wonder if we have a problem with changes in God's word today.....

Are new findings changing God's forever settled writings?...
Just a thought..

Back to the 3 things.
Apostles, need wisdom, and love.
And Paul was certainly an excellent example, and God worked through him, to write over half of the new testament.
Most of those books as we see, were epistles, showing his great love for the churches.
And we also hear of Peter telling about his wisdom in his writings....

2 Peter 3:13-17
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Wow, the ending of that is powerful as well.

"beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness."

And what was the main error he was referring to?

"in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

You can start with the true word of God, but if you don't ask for God's help when it's too hard for your fleshly mind to understand, you'll want the easy way...
Something....new and improved.
Something modernized and made for this time, because...things have changed...but have they really?

Ecclesiastes 1:9
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

And do we see a problem with not taking something to God? Even a simple thing?...

2 Chronicles 16:12
And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.

He died, diseased, but he didn't have to.
And he didn't seek God in another situation...

2 Chronicles 16:7
And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.

Sounds like not relying on God, can bring some trouble...and oppression..

2 Chronicles 16:10
Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.

And remember the woman with the issue of blood?...

Luke 8:43
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

And what happened when she literally, got a hold, of the Lord Jesus?

Luke 8:48
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

She touched him and was healed, but then Jesus Christ made her whole.
Her soul, and body.
That's why HE is called the great physician.

So,
In conclusion for today.
We see a great connection with the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, and the offices the Lord calls us to.

Not to be limiting what you can receive of them all, but showing how each one is very necessary for each other.

And I will end with a few verses more, regarding love from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1 John 3:1
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Ephesians 3:19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
