🌟 Welcome to the IEA, ! 🌟
We are beyond thrilled to introduce Melissa Freebern and welcome her to the International Encaustic Artists community.
Melissa is an encaustic and mixed media artist based in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, whose work reflects the ever-shifting moods of landscape through luminous layers of wax, mixed media, and natural materials. Her pieces invite quiet reflection, where light, texture, and memory intertwine to evoke the subtle beauty of the natural world.
In some works, Melissa also draws inspiration from the delicate traces left behind on a florist’s table—capturing fleeting moments that speak to the impermanence and quiet poetry of natural forms.
Melissa earned her BFA from Alfred University and continues to grow her creative practice through exhibitions, local markets, and a line of art-inspired products for gift shops.
We’re honored to have Melissa as part of the IEA community and can’t wait to see how her beautiful encaustic work continues to evolve. ✨
