I’ve now written through chapter 2 of Habakkuk. One thing that I love about tackling little bits of scripture at a time, is being able to meditate on it, and listen to what the Holy Spirit teaches me about it as I go through my week.

As I was writing through chapter one and thinking about how God works, He showed me how His hand played out a situation recently that lined up with just how He worked in Habakkuk’s day.

It blessed my heart. God is still loving people, and being perfect in every way just like He was in Habakkuk’s day. He still reigns in the affairs of men. He still uses situations that we would never attribute to His plan…to perfectly accomplish His plan. His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9) and completely trustworthy even when we don’t understand.

Chapter 2 starts with Habakkuk saying he is going to stand watch like a guard expecting Gods answer, and he will practice some self-examination and guard his words when he answers.

God tells him to write the vision and to make it plain! He says “though it tarry”, and “it will not tarry”. Gods just telling him that it will seem like tarrying to him, but God knows it will not be one moment past the time appointed!

God goes on to list the 5 woes that are directed at the Chaldeans (or Babylonians). (Verses 6, 9, 12, 15, & 19.)

I’ll post a little more about the woes a little later.

Are those of you who are writing along, still in?

I brought my father-in-law to the VA today for a dr appt and saw this sign behind the counter. The scripture this represents has been on my mind a lot for several months now.

I remember when I was in 4th grade, my math teacher had this on a sign in his classroom, and a title above it saying “The Golden Rule”. As children, we remembered this referenced often.

Somehow as we grew up, we still thought of it as a child’s lesson.

The Lord has been speaking to my heart a lot the past few years about how we complicate His will, and our lives by adding so many things to it.

There was nothing wrong with the basics.

Matthew 7:12
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

Luke 6:31
“And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”

It’s not a hard concept- treat people the way you would like to be treated!

If we thought about this every time we dealt with people or situations, it may change some things.

I received this prayer card last week and am always encouraged by Jean Charlotte . She is bedridden a lot of the time and still found a way to serve the Lord.

She mails out tracts to people and reached a milestone recently.

If you want to be a witness for the Lord, you can.

I’m proud of and encouraged by your faithfulness Jean Charlotte ❤️

I found this beautiful handmade quilt while thrifting last week. It was $18.99! It has a tag on it from PatchMagic Quilts and it is beautiful and a great quality! I didn’t know there was a company that sold actual handmade quilts!

It’s a basic nine patch squares pattern in the middle with beautiful appliqué all around the edges ❤️

Yum! I’ve been wanting some butterbeans and I put them in the crockpot last night. I keep ham bones, and smoked pork roast leftovers in the freezer for beans - that makes a cheap and simple meal.

I always think of Lima or butterbeans as an old fashioned meal. They are so good seasoned with just salt & pepper. We eat them as is, over rice, and/or with cornbread.

Do you like butterbeans?

Good morning yall! It’s time to get ready for Sunday school!

I look forward to Sundays, and I love our ladies Sunday school class!

I had a busy week last week, and this week is looking pretty full, too - but Sunday is a wonderful pause from the busyness of life. It’s a refreshing of my spirit to prepare for each coming week. It’s a sweet gathering of saints of God that I’m so thankful to be a part of. It’s also a repair place to lay down our burdens and reset our focus.

It’s a place that I’m reminded to focus on Jesus and turn my eyes away from the things that distract from the important things in life❤️

It’s also a wonderful place (but not the only place) to become a Christian!

I sincerely hope you all have a church home. If you don’t, I encourage you to visit one today!
