This was a long but fun project. Using molds I created each leaf and flower with air dry clay. I arranged them to soften but follow the line of the stairs, holding them in place with a small piece of painters tape while the dry wall compound dried. After the clay was dry, I painted them gray and finished them with a dry brushing of white for a bit of highlight on the petals. The paint was left over from other projects in the house. I did this project before I had decided I was going to share my creative adventures, so I don't have a recording of the process - but if there a good amount of interest I can certainly duplicate it somewhere.
If you are interested, using my Amazon Affiliate links would be remarkably helpful has I work to build my project portfolio. I also added the link to the bad-ass plant stand you see in the pics - which I'm in love with - what you see is actually the 11 tiered stand + a 6 tiered stand with parts left over - and although not provided, I did anchor the stand to the wall to eliminate any toppling. Just made good sense.
I misspoke in the video - I'm too new to have an "Amazon Store" - so at the moment, I have links - and here they are:
