Designing the unexpected, an editorial shoot of wild horses on the cliffs of Palos Verdes.

The goal: create the feel of wild horses wandering the field on the ocean cliffs.

The how: source life size horses, load them into truck, create clusters of wildflower groupings, transport it all to the cliffs, unload it, set it up, shoot it.

The result: large scale still life of wild horses.

The candlelight softly flickered illuminating the soft details of the serpentine tables just before the guests descended to the courtyard for dinner. Diana asked for timeless, elegant yet unexpected tablescapes.

What you don’t see are the hours spent attaching moss to each tray before adding in all the delicate blooms. It was sticky and messy! It takes a village, or small army, to bring together the beauty we create for our clients and it is such a joy to see the final vision come to life. The best part of the evening, when Diana said, “Hillary, you make people’s dreams come true”. My heart was filled with joy!
