I decided to try my hand at making salsa and it turned out pretty darn good! I like it better than most of the salsas I have tried from the stores which is what inspired me to try it in the first place. I think it needs a few tweaks, but overall I am happy with it. If you want to know the recipe, don't ask. I looked at the ingredients on the back of a salsa jar I had and totally winged it from there.

These photos were taken last week in Denton with a Ansco Shur-Shot Jr camera (pictured) and 120 Kodak Portra 160 ISO color negative film. This camera has no f-stops, shutter speeds, or focus mechanism. All you can do is frame the shot and trip the shutter. If you forget to manually wind the film you will get some fun double exposures.😁

Happy Birthday to my delightfully wonderful wife, Julia Tallmadge Chalker! She is an amazing blessing to me, our family, and everyone who knows her. I literally love her a ton (I moved almost a ton of rock last week to create a stone path in our backyard for her birthday present)! While I don't think I will be creating any more stone paths for her, I look forward to celebrating many, many, many more birthdays with the love of my life. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Julia!!!

If you ever come to Texas, I hope you get to see this in person.
Not the skyscrapers or the bustling suburbs. Not the abundance of every kind of restaurant or even the BBQ joints. This is the real Texas. Beautiful skies, wide open spaces, and longhorn cattle. It's not just a scene, it's a feeling, a heritage, a way of life that embraces freedom and independence. Generations of men and women who gave their blood, sweat, and tears to make something worth having. That is what Texas is really about.
