The Bungalow in Santa Monica! 🏖️ Swipe left for a throwback to me "raging" there exactly 10 years ago (2014) + some beautiful photos 📸 of one of LA’s most popular hospitality venues.

Why am I showing all of this? Little did I know, 4 years after that photo was taken, I would spend 2018-2019 learning with : one of the most talented design firms out there & the brilliant creators behind The Bungalow. Highly recommend you check out their work.

Living in Malibu for 15 years, this little beach house was a go-to for socializing with the sun-kissed 🌞, west side crowd of Los Angeles. Perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean 🌊 , this local spot exudes distinct charm, resembling a private residence with its myriad of nooks and crannies. Picture dimly lit rooms, numerous family and sitting spaces—all seamlessly woven together. It effortlessly ties together eclectic with tasteful, creating an understated upscale inviting atmosphere that feels more like a stylish home than a mere venue.

My personal style echoes in these photos - I think I will forever be tied in some way to the Pacific. Now in Texas, I'm inspired to infuse some of what you see into homes & hospitality venues. Think Pacific sunsets & Texas horizons - the Bungalow’s influence lives on 💫🌅.

Beni Ourain Moroccan Rugs: my go-to signature piece for most rooms.✨ I have them all over my house & if you work with me I will likely place them all over your space too. Rarely do I sway from these because nothing really can come close; especially if you are looking for something authentically vintage. Each rug is a one-of-a-kind; originally crafted by the Beni Ourain tribal women. These rugs used to double up as beds and warm blankets during chilly months for the Beni people. Handwoven, every rug spins a free-flowing tale about the lives and stories of its creators. Keep swiping to meet a few of the sheep🐑 who have kindly provided their wool🌟 *Disclaimer* The sheep are not harmed - the wool is sourced from local farmers who periodically shear their sheep and their wool continues to grow back.

I was suppose to go fishing 🎣 today with family. Not my first choice of activity. But God was faithful and brought in the most beautiful cold front and rain storm 🌧️. The rain and temperatures were severe enough that both the charter company and family agreed we needed to cancel. The relief I felt was euphoric - similar to the feeling of relief I have when a design project finally comes together. I’m now enjoying coffee in a warm flannel. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday however you chose to spend it. Here are a few photos that caught my design eye today. Blown away by some of the talent out there.
