We always say they find us. Update on the dog 🐕 that came running down the street a week ago. Yesterday Lisa A Stewart saw a flyer for a lost dog, and it was him. We reached out to his owners, and when I left for my trip this morning, I thought I was saying goodbye and he was going back to a family that loved him. Lisa returned him, and said it was a sweet young family with kids and a new baby and they were happy to have him home. 15 minutes later, we got a text that asked if we would like to keep him. It turns out they weren’t supposed to have a dog, and he had been living outside in this record heat- no wonder he ran away! When they got him back, they realized this wasn’t a good life for him. So Lisa immediately went back and we now have a 2 year old, 3lb puppy! Name to be determined. I think I’m going to have to get yet another job to pay for his vet bills- he has never been to a vet, and his teeth are rotten, not neutered, not chipped, and I am praying not heartworm positive. When Lisa picked him up, they asked if they could have a puppy if we bred him. No, and no. Wish us luck! ❤️

I am double dipping at this year’s TEXSOM Conference conference. Not only am I volunteering, but it is also my first time to be a participant and to get to sit in on the seminars as well. During the first seminar I said that it was going to take me a year to absorb all of the incredible information in that hour seminar- I’ve got some studying to do! From the morning toast with Williams Selyem Brut to an engaging discussion on Texas wines lead by Jessica N Dupuy | Food & Drink I’m exhausted, but can’t wait for tomorrow.

A typical day at our house… was rushing to get out of the house to get to the State Fair of Texas Big Tex Choice awards, and here comes this tiny nugget running down the road in 100 plus degree weather. He came running up to me and just curled up in my arms, and of course I had to bring him in. I have been putting out the word we have him, and posted him online, but so far no one has stepped up to claim him. Next step is to post him at DAS and check the local vets, but until then he is living his best life with a bath, mani pedi and a big bed with toys. He needs a name until hopefully his owner is found. I’m thinking Little Tex?

We are in a state of mind right now And we can’t stop thinking about the ferniesfunnelcakecream we got to taste yesterday. On our flight to New Orleans on Southwest Airlines Lisa Stewart was hoping for some Fernie’s Funnel Cake Cream for her coffee- the perfect product for a Dallas based airline to offer! If not, coming in a month to the State Fair of Texas- we’ll be the first in line!

Hey Southwest Airlines as a A-list Preferred traveler with you, it sure would be great to be able to get a ferniesfunnelcakecream on your flights- especially during the State Fair of Texas! I can’t think that celebrates Texas more than The State Fair of Texas, Southwest Airlines, and all of the families that for decades have been serving up the finest concessions at the fair. Let’s start a movement- like and share this post and let Southwest know you want a Fernies on your Southwest flight as well!

There’s a reason I hang out with chefs and photographers- I’ll never go hungry and I’ll always have great memories on film to remember the great times. When Andrew Weir agreed to come and live with me when my daughter was in high school, he was a lifesaver. She got to have the coolest “manny” ever and I never had to worry about what she was doing and where she was. Plus Andrew kept me grounded in a crazy time in my life, and I will forever be grateful. I was working at Hermès, and they were very good to their employees- it was truly a dream job. Andrew and I would do impromptu photo shoots where he would work on lighting techniques, and I got to learn from the best. I love that we can immediately pick up where we left off, no matter where in the world we are. I had forgotten about this Hermès shoot- I still have both of these- Hermès was the start of my Lifestylist brand, and Andrew was the start of me understanding who I am. Thanks, Andrew for taking the time to send this to me tonight, and remembering those special@moments in time we had. Love you.
