Now vs then.

Amazing what a different shape and change of color can do to a space. It’s got a lot of quirks and I should’ve done more planing/used biscuits, but she looks good!

Final color is 3 coats of ‘Pickled Oak’ and a nice polish of Feed-N-Wax.

First off, I’m still here! Things have been crazy busy around casa de Shafer, despite all the “down time” a lot of us have been unceremoniously handed. In all seriousness, I hope everyone is faring well during these times of uncertainty. Keep your eyes peeled because there’s more coming your way soon!

No filter for this bad boy. Went on vacation and spent some much needed time with family, but just before I left I shipped this beauty off to it’s new home!

A lot of makers have told me they don't like working with cross cuts like this, I'm starting to see their point. as soon as I’m out of stock I’m not going to be doing much of these and move on to some longer slabs I've been slowly accruing so stay tuned!

No filter for this bad boy. I had an absolute blast with this little fixer upper a coworker and friend let me dabble on, I’m so happy with how it turned out! There were a lot of “what am I doing here...” moments on this tabletop, but a lot of those outcomes are going into the books for my next adventure.

I made a thing! This year has been one of reflection and learning, I’ve made some new friends and had a LOT to take in. One of the biggest things I learned is that I lack a serious amount of tools and hardware and need to build up that foundation. This weekend, I took a major step in that direction and couldn’t be happier with the result!
