I started this DIY outdoor kitchen over a year ago, and it’s officially my longest project ever. Our builder gave us a tiny extra pad, so I designed and built it myself. It was going great... until life got in the way. 🙃

What finally got it moving? The Yard Force REVOLA X4E robot mower from Lowe's Home Improvement. It took lawn duty off my plate, so my weekends went to tiling instead of mowing. I finished the kitchen with $1.69-a-piece allen + roth Fiona Black patterned porcelain tile, black MAPEI grout, and a stainless drink fridge, all from Lowe’s.

Shiplap is out. Hold my Diet Coke. 🥤

Summer 2025: my middle guy outgrew the nursery, so I turned it into his big boy room and shiplapped it anyway. The internet can call it dated. He calls it his favorite room in the house.
No contractor, no husband help. Just me, a nail gun, and about $240 in shiplap.
