Van Gogh (along with the Impressionists) is at the top of my list for inspiration. I agree with this quote and find that nature holds the same inspiration for me.

⛰️ We all sometimes lack motivation and that’s totally ok! Maybe this advice from Vincent will help to get a little bit of motivation back.
📝 ‘Always continue walking a lot and loving nature, for that’s the real way to learn to understand art better and better. Painters understand nature and love it, and teach us to see’. These encouraging words were written for his brother Theo (1874).

What do you do to stay motivated? Or to get your motivation back.

I’m busy getting ready for my upcoming show at next weekend and with the sun coming out today, I opened my studio big door to let the light and fresh air in.

Then as I was working, I overheard a couple from across the way. It’s a decent distance away so somehow it carried to my ears. The husband observed, “Look, the artist is at work.” And just like that they retreated into their house.

I smiled a big smile and thought what a different creature we truly are — artists. Almost like a captive animal of sorts, but without the negative implication. I also thought I was carrying on in anonymity in my studio world, but apparently not. ☺️ 🎨
